Look for an airsoft PASGT helmet copy, I've got one that looks convincing enough.
I actually picked one up for only $11. I know where I can get a vest from, it's just the most expensive part so I'm waiting for the helmet to arrive first. The whole thing should be done somewhere in June.

Star Trek DS9 / Voyager Era Officer (~90% Complete, Started Jan 2018):
I sewed this from a pattern from the Gene Roddenbery website (which is shutdown now, but there's plenty of screen accurate patterns out there) and it was my first time sewing a full article of clothing, but patience and paying very close attention to the pattern will take you far. The uniform turned out mostly well sans a few rough spot seams on the neck (just due to my inexperience) but it fits great and is fairly flexible. I 3D printed the Combadge in PLA from this pattern on thingiverse as well as a TNG/DS9/Voy era Type II Phaser and then sanded/primed/painted. I'm working on electronics right now to make a working Phaser and working Combadge that bluetooth pairs to my Phone. Plus I installed the now defunct (I had to sideload the APK) Tricorder app for Android. My partner was also awesome and got me the Federation flag which just added so well.

Rainbow Six Siege - Twitch (~65% Complete, Started June 2018):
Most of this I bought online from the jumpsuit with is a US Navy/Coast Guard CWU/73P Nomex Flight Suit (I need to sew in some knee padding just for functionality), the plate carrier/vest I bought online from a Ukraine supplier (evike has a very similar vest, but the Ukrainian one is more functional, has actual plate pouches, a camelbak holder and is better quality and the Evike one has been out of stock for almost a year.). Still sorting out the Bavaclava, but the black nomex one I bought works pretty well. I got the Twitch patch from SciFiGeeks with the French Flag & GIGN patches from Amazon. I'm building up the miscellaneous accessories like the radio, headset and thigh dump pouch. Plus I'm actually working on building an RC driveable, FPV camera drone with built in flashing lights to act as the Tazer using this pattern from thingiverse, the FPV watch you see on my wrist will be cannibalized along with some 3D printed housing and grey Kydex to make a controller gauntlet exactly like in game. I still need to buy an airsoft FAMAS and pistol + thigh holster, so I'll probably hit up Evike again.

Metal Gear Solid 1` - Solid Snake (Started/Completed Fall of 2014):
Better than the Freeman cosplay, using mostly off-the-shelf stuff Propper Grey BDU Pants & Shirt, and I reused a fishing jacket I bought from Goodwill by unsewing the pockets on it and added some more padding to look more like Snake's sneaking suit. Headband was with scrap fabric along with a scrap obligatory cardboard box. I made a small sound effect circuit that I stuck in a pocket with an amplified speaker to play Snake's Codec ring by button. The knee pads/elbow pads I reused some old bicycle knee/elbow pads by sanding them and painting/priming them steel grey.

Black Cat - Sven Vollfied (Started/Completed Early 2012):
I got some more clothes chops from this with the help from my mom. Found a full suit/pants from Goodwill that wasn't quite white (it was beige, yuck) so we Rit Color bleached it so it was nigh-pure white and then I bought a white fedora (lol what a fuckin neckbeard), bought a blue button-up and red tie both from Goodwill, made an eyepatch with some scrap leather and leather strip/string and bought an aluminum briefcase to which I stuck some electronics in it (I never finished this part, the only working part was just an audio amp, but I had intended buttons on the handle with a little display to say blink lights in rapid succession with a sound effect chip to make it sound/look like the briefcase was firing a hidden SMG like the Attache' case does in the Manga, but never finished that, so only white LEDs and an audio amp).

Cardboard Freeman, it was my first serious cosplay and it hasn't aged well lol. But I still have fond memories of it along with all the cutting/folding/painting involved with it. I want to retry this with better materials and better skillset in the future. And yes...that's not facial hair, that's mascara...

Initial ideas include using a black/red wetsuit as a base and then sewing on the right colors + accesories as needed. For the helmet, I'm probably going to model/3D print most of the structure. I've already have an idea of using electrochromatic glass (Also known as Smart Glass/PDLC Film) for the visor and sequence the change to opaque like in some of the reference material. I'm probably not going to start this until maybe 2020 if that. Hell just about all of it I'll probably 3D print and sand/paint/prime.

I cosplayed Ash "Ashy Slashy" Williams at a con last weekend! Don't have a video of it but the chainsaw does move and make noise since I used one of these as a base.

I do need to adjust the handle mount, maybe slope the back a bit, and tweak the inner handle to be more comfortable, but it came out quite solid overall.

DIY Prop Shop - for the vent on the side (I wanted it open because I kept the original's speaker) and the idea to use a key/badge minder for the pullcord
