if you think the mics themselves are bad, try the licenses
this is a thing?
Okay, so, I'm in a bit of a pinch and I need some assistance finding gear. My A7R of 3 years bit the dust a few months back (long story, but the internals got wrecked to the point where a repair was unlikely). Since I hadn't done any real 'toggin in a while I wasn't too bummed about it so I ended up taking a break from photography. Recently though I've really been itching to get back in, but there's no way I'll be able to pick up a new-gen A7R. Really I'm in no financial situation to buy anything that isn't second-hand and below ~500 USD. I could set myself up for a credit-payment, but I really don't want to do that since I'm saving up for other things and I already have a loan. It's a predicament, and it'll suck to not have full-frame but really I'm mostly trying to find something to hold me over for the year and then during Christmas I might be able to splurge a bit on something better. Right now I've found, for $400, a Canon 700D that includes a 8-55mm 3,5-5,6 IS STM, a 50mm 1,8 STM, and 2 batteries and, for$210, a Nikon D3100 that includes a 18-55mm 3.5-5.6. Not really super-highend stuff. Really I'm limited to what's listed on this Swedish second-hand site. https://www.blocket.se/stockholm/ljud_bild/foto_Videokameror?cg=5040&w=1&st=s&ca=11&is=1&l=0&md=th&c=5042 Anyone got some good tips?
You could look for a cheap Canon 5D Mark 2, if you wanna go full frame temporarily.
Would be nice, does blow my budget a bit though. I'm finding one MkII for $596 including a battery grip - without a lens. The guy sells a 17-85mm 4.0-5.6f separately for an extra $100, so that'd be near $700. I might be able to do it, but yeah.
Wait and save for a second hand a7. I’ve seen them sell as low as $350 US
How about this, I found a Nikon D700 with a battery grip, 3 memory cards and a Nikkor 24-120 f/3,5-5,6 G IFED for $485. Seems to spec-wise be marginally above the MkII, and with the price difference I'd say that seems good anyway.
12 megapixels though :P
fuck me i reformatted my card by mistake now the retrieved video is fucked is there still any chance?
Repair Corrupt MP4 and MOV File using VLC and other Media Player Maybe this is worth a try?
If you're ready to pay for it and you're dealing with only a few clips then this site has helped me when a card got corrupted somehow Fix.video There's a preview feature so you can see if they actually fixed the clip before paying....I don't know if there's a free way to do the same
Fuck, you right. The 5D Mk2 I found was already taken. Bummed, but gonna keep looking around. I'll gladly pick something else if it's in the same price range of ~600-700 USD though, if the quality delivers. Worse comes to worst I'll just bite the bullet and up my price a bit more for a used MkIII or something, there's plenty of those out there in second hand markets.
Recently bought this like-new Tokina 11-16mm for $250, and it arrived today. I've only done a couple test shots with it and I already love it. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/226487/14ad7cbf-27f7-43dd-9190-7a147e492a3e/DSC_7401.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/226487/bb35e8bb-84b1-47f8-ba66-dbb2c8cbd211/DSC_7394.jpg
So I'm looking to buy a Canon EOS R after running with an original 5D since I was in high school. However I'm stuck on which lens to get with it. The options I'm look at are the RF 35mm f/1.8 or the RF 24-105mm f/4. Currently I have the original EF 17-40mm f/4 that we got with the 5D (we did have an EF 24-105mm f/4 and Ef 70-200mm f/4 but they mysteriously vanished in a removals van,) a cheapo Canon 50mm f/1.8 and a cheap second hand 75-300mm f/4-5.6 (no image stabilisation D: ) I'd really like to have a Macro lens again (used to have an awesome telephoto macro lens for an ancient Nikon camera when my dad first got into photograph) but I also like the idea of the versatility of the 24-105mm with image stabilisation. Given what I already have, what would you guys think would be the best option to go with?
I'd say get the 24-105 and wait for the fast RF primes. You could also pair the RF with an old 35 2 or 35 1.4 using the converter. The high iso and low light performance won't make the f/4 as much of a burden as it was with a 5D. However, I say that as someone who doesn't use a lens slower than 2.8.
Will EF lenses be slower to focus with the EOS R through the converter? I'm not clued up on how lens adapters actually work or how lens technology has changed over the years. What retailer would you recommend? I was going to go with John Lewis because I've had good experience with their care packages, there's a big one near my workplace and I feel guilty everytime I use Amazon.
I hear there's no performance loss. After all, it's Canon-to-Canon, not some third party trying to figure out how the heck to convert signal from one mount to another.
They work better than on a DSLR. I recommend John Lewis
Hadn't made an account before so despite buying from them before, I had no purchase history tied to my account. Purchase got flagged as fraud, support told me it's because their system detects high value purchases set to click & collect as possible credit card fraud. It's gonna be a few days until I can actually sort this out due to the pending transaction on my account First time having a bad experience with them - but I guess it's nice to know they're diligent when it comes to customer's accounts.
Any suggestions for camera? Don't need anything pro-level, just camera for general photos and travel photos that I want to be in good quality rather than my shitty phone camera. Budget is only about 500 GBP. My picks so far were: Canon 200D, Canon 2000D and 4000D. The problem I have is I have absolutely no clue what's the difference between them. 200D seems to be most popular/best? (If anyone can explain why - you would be awesome). Need: Be able to transfer photo to phone without PC. Removable battery would be nice (So I can get two or three of them and swap them out). Video recording would be plus. Also are there any lens attachments that you can get that would widen the FOV or make it fish-eye? (I checked out lenses and they are quite expensive for my purpose) so some attachment would be great?
Software is technically gear ehh? Adobe's $10 Photography Plan Gone from Site This kind of sucks, 100% price increase out of nowhere. You can still buy the normal price through keycards and activate it to tack on a few years more of this price rate though - https://www.adorama.com/ab65262964.html?utm_source=rflaid67085
Buying a system camera without wanting to deal with lenses seems incredibly backwards to me. I recommend you check out something along the lines of a Sony RX100, or a Canon G7 for that sort of use and price range. They are compact cameras with large 1" sensors. Just pick whichever version falls within your budget. Newer is better, and the Sony ones generally have better image quality at the expense of higher complexity.
The reason I want DSLR is because it has more settings in terms of ISO, Exposure time aperture etc.. I used to have two DSLR's in 2009 but it's been a while and I have no idea what's good out there. I might invest in wide angle lens at later stage, I was just asking if there are any sort of attachments that convert your normal stock lens to wide angle or fish-eye effect. I am not fan of the point and shoot cameras, about 8 out of 8 times that I owned them - I end up with it lying somewhere around the house.
These cameras have all of those settings Like I said, they aren't simple point-and-shoot cameras, they are large sensor powerhouses for those who don't want to deal with interchangeable lenses. Anyways: The Canon 200D is vastly superior to the 2000D and 4000D. The 200D is just straight up newer, and it's in the hundreds series, which puts it above the thousands series to begin with (Canon's naming is a bit odd) The 200D is just about the smallest DSLR on the market.
There are my options in Dublin store (can't go for Amazon as GBP rate fucks me over big time). Sony RX100 - 399 Euro Sony RX100 Mk III - 599 Euro Sony RX100 Mk V - 899 Euro Canon EOS 200D + 18-55mm DC lll Lens - 570 Euro
You mentioned you might get other lenses down the road, so I'd probably not go for an RX100 in that case. They also have the a6000 + 16-50 for €618.99 (this isn't the same as the RX100, this one has interchangeable lenses) Sony ILCE 6000 System Mirrorless A6000 Alpha Sony Digital Camera.. Basically: Canon 200D for ease of use and familiar DSLR body type Sony A6000 for somewhat higher performance and complexity
Thanks for help, will look into A6000 as well now. Is Image Stabilization determined by camera or lens? Because 18-55mm Lens for Canon with IS is only 70 euro more, which I assume is well worth it.
In this case, there's no sensor stabilization so the lens deals with the IS. Both the Canon 18-55 and the Sony 16-50 have optical IS built in. They should perform the same.
Had a look at Sony a6000, seems fairly decent. My only concern is that its' a bit dated no?
It is a bit older, but it's still better than the 200D specs wise. That said, they're both pretty close - pick whatever you feel more comfortable with handling.
