Woops, made a thread when I should've noticed this was more than a drawing software only thread lol sorry. But like I said in mine, the one is my wife's attempts at puctures she likes and the glass one she did by sketching.

Always happy to see your posts, absolutely love your work.
I gotta say being a full time artist is rough on the body. Got my first concept art fulltime, 9-5 Monday through Friday just constantly drawing. My arm is dead and carpal tunnel is real. I’m constantly having to stretch and shit.

An RX-7 in the style of Hotline Miami. Replaces Pardo's car, although i had to resize the front to meet with the door hinge part.

having fun applying line of action. i've never really been able to draw figures before so it's really nice to be able to feel out a curve to start drawing from (anatomy be damned)

Been wanting to develop more social confidence in myself, so I thought I'd start a youtube channel to get out some creativity and do something that makes me uncomfortable. Would love some critique!

this is really good for a starter video, love the design too
You gotta lower the volume of the background music in your next ones though, right now it's at a point where both your narration and the music fight for attention. What you can do also is to make pauses in your speech if there's nothing major to talk about and boost the track up. Not sure if you already edit the voice recording in audacity to reduce echo/white noise but getting a decent mic would be really good too.
If you want to attract more people to watch/sub (not that there's anything wrong with making these for yourself mostly), then i'd suggest thinking about what you can offer to people. There's nothing wrong with your current way and you can keep making those, but for a lot of people it's "a guy talking about stuff while drawing something" - it's a bit unspecific in terms of topics. People either look for educational or entertaining content on youtube, usually. You can try to make a video on how you go about specific issues (character thumbnails, design principles, etc.) or challenge yourself with something and let people look at results.
I think it's also a good idea to give people a lot of context. Maybe set on to design a lot of stuff for an imaginary game/universe, give it a name and figure out a story to draw people in, something like that.
These are all great critiques thank you! Yeah I have a good mic I think it’s the acoustics in my room are terrible and I didn’t adjust the levels at all. Probably gonna get an iso box this weekend.
Definitely agree with having more focus on the video. To be honest this one was just sort of a practice at getting past the anxiety and fear factor. I didn’t take an breaths and just kept talking out of awkwardness hahaha. I figure that’ll come easier from just consistently making videos.
Have some ideas for more specific videos, I think you’re right that there needs to be more context. I’m definitely not seeing this as my main focus because I do work a 9-5 concept art job at a game studio, but I do want to strive to make good content regardless of whether it goes anywhere or not.
Thanks again
ughh i'll never get good at rendering

No way dude that’s looking awesome! Don’t forget about bounce light! I see you added red bounce light from the armor but the green from the visor and legs should mix in as well!
And the age ol rule the darkest light should be lighter than the lightest dark. It’ll help separate your shadow from light more.
I keep forgetting this thread is here! Always nice to look through at all the different art styles people have going on.
Figure I'll post my latest pieces now that I have a break from work, really happy with how they've come out! Feedback is appreciated, will try post more in this thread a bit more just so I have a bit of input into the forum.

This was fun to draw. Especially because there was no guidlines, I just laid down big brushstrokes and worked my way down to smaller ones.

Almost done with this. Feels like it maybe needs some big old pine trees somewhere.
Yo I'd use the fuck outta that.
