HOLY CRAP I have sold my first art piece, ever! I am more surprised than anything else, considering I have been sceptical for years over it as well as starting my art business from the ground up. I have listed my first 5x7 painting on EBay only a week ago, and within the first day someone has already bid on it!

Bloodbornesque interpretation of local folklore.
So, yesterday morning I had a dream, where I sat up in bed, looked out my bedroom window, and saw this in the backyard.
I sketched it out in a dream journal, then recreated it from memory, it was a very brief dream, but boy did it stick with me.

Honestly really cool, I love work like this. Its the sort of thing I think would make a slick skateboard design.
Been testing my skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and laser cutting. Had some issues masking and cutting the paper on the laser even though registration points were good. I think it was down to the printer taking up the paper at a slight angle as it went through the bypass tray. (Pictures printed on standard work toner printer.) Unfortunately due to their size, I wasn't able to create bleed marks which would have prevented white edges from appearing. FYI these are A7 size.

Main inspiration was from http://clareceleste.com/ Pictures were sources from Minneapolis Institute of Art 🔎 "The Minnich Collection The Ethel Morrison Van Derlip Fund, 1..as it's dead easy to search and browse their catalogue of HQ photos and scans. All I had to do was create a mask, bulk out certain areas such as stems and branches and vectorize in illustrator.
Would love to create an A3 one when we get more 2mm acrylic in.

Though I think the shading on the neck and hands makes the face look quite flat and like its sort of floating above the body? Or maybe its the flat shading on the face thats making the shading on the hands and neck look a bit much? Either way the face looks detached from the rest of the figure...maybe its just the harsh difference in contrast?

Yes, i agree her face looks photoshopped...
I spent most of the time paintig her arms and torso to make sure all the muscles are there (it was fun)
But i really should have spent as much effort everywhere else...

I think it’s because the shadows are too dark in contrast to the face, and the neck is totally broken. It looks like the neck is straight up and down, while the head is tilted.
I don't do any art myself but this is my girlfriend's latest drawing she's proud of it so I thought I'd put it out here for people to see it.
