That is very simple, as a complete beginner I reckon you can do that in two days
My mother knits. Got some pretty sweet mittens out of it.

I tried asking her about how it works and felt like a complete idiot because I know absolutely nothing about the subject. Must be what she feels like when she tries to take interest in my programming...
Programming and Knitting have a lot more in common than you may think. Knitting is essentially binary, since you can knit or purl each stitch, and different combinations of knitting and purling will yield very different results.
I have never thought about it like that, but it makes sense.
