The avatar uses one texture per side of the body so I'm limited in what detail I can put. The ears, antennae and angler are my own mesh models though.
I've been making a gross seagull/vulture/wyvern thing. Just about started on the texture.

Which was a great idea until it turned out that caseless ammuntion really likes to cook off, at which point your gun explodes and projectiles go fucking everywhere.

Started my job in a VR R&D studio for games and gamification of training exercises.
Can't believe I'm being paid to chase virtual physics-based cables that are spazzing around, to try and grab them to see what colliders are intersecting.
Working on another asset pack hopefully get that done soon as I work on a game as well.

It might be just the sketchfab viewer but both the bucket and barrel have a pretty bad texture seam and more significantly normals seam along the round walls.

are you looking at a specific reference for that barrel? the coloured parts are obviously metallic giving it an almost anodized look which just isn't how those barrels would be made. if you were trying to make it look like a layer of paint you need to change the metalness to 0. in doing that you'd need to change the rust too because it wouldn't form on top of the paint like that
Still trying to sort out this seam issue it's driving me mad I've never had this before I have a feeling I'm forgetting something that I usually do because I haven't done anything in a while ughh.
Thanks for the tips, I was looking at a few references and was stuck between how I wanted the barrel to look and made a few last minute changes, I'll go ahead and take the advice after I figure this dilemma out.

Hey so this is sort of a c+p from this discord hope that okay.
Comparing what I have vs the ref does anyone have any crit? I've stepped back from the last project since it was just way too fucking big, like, silly big. And I've redesigned with something I'm happy with. Also trying for realistic mat definition. The bottom left is supposed to have been worked with a tool, a sort of long bending chisel, then also smoothed off.

And @SweetSwifter thanks for that crit a while back, actually made me step back and think about what I was doing, despite all the concepting (theres a huge amount) and work I'd put into the last project I still had no clue what I was going for at all.
Yo what happened to that steampunk hover tank thing? I fucking love that thing and i didn't see it finished.
The only thing I can say is that the surface looks much too soft. It almost looks translucent, while your reference has a very hard, opaque surface. Genuine criticism aside, it kinda looks like a tonsil stone.
Small update to the materials, followed peoples crit and sharpened things up, made the forms a lot more obvious with a macro normal. Going to keep working on the albedo and the roughness, both just need more definition on the edges and peaks.

I still got it, dont worry. I've just noticed about a hundred different things about it that i want to improve, and i haven't quite pulled myself together for that task yet.

I made a Kobold for VRChat! Made it a little while back, but only recently rediscovered that Facepunch has a 3D art section.
Thats a nice model, regardless if its scalie scum. Kinda sad to know unity is going to shit on it
It actually looks better in Unity imo, since I have access to shaders there it has parallaxing eyes with dilation, and proper jiggle bones.
In VRChat though it's pretty awful because most worlds don't have any real-time lights to create specular highlights.
I guess that is true, more VRchat's fault than Unity's. Just sit in nicely lit rooms all the time.

I did some things differently with this one, I hope it addresses some of the issues with my past models that people have posted in this thread!
As much as I don't care for anime/scaly/hentai related content, this is a really nice model.
My only critique I guess would be the normal seams on the shoulders and the fact the boobs inflate with the breathing animation.

The seams might look okay in Unity. Normals are fucky and I don't fully understand how tangent basis work.
