Was in Philly recently. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4893/45793243975_4642f64d1a_c.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7912/31767056157_20656998fc_c.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4916/31767056017_b3b2bf99ab_c.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4908/31767055547_3a2e48887f_c.jpg
Took my drone out for the first time in months. Missed golden hour sunrise because of wind and rain. Had to sit on a bench in that park for like an hour before I could do anything. https://www.flickr.com/photos/wickerman123/45812003975/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/wickerman123/39761385243/in/dateposted-public/
Hey guys I lost my old account, probably because I haven't posted in like a year 2018 was a crazy year and I shot loads but haven't posted anything, here's a huge dump of stuff with much more to come! good to have you back chief
Thanks. I'm trying out adding more contrast, though I must say, it wasn't the best attempt that day, I need to practice with strobes more. Plus her nose is quite sharp so there is no shadows on one side of her face if I only use 1 strobe to light from the side.

Hi. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/402817/039f2241-d7d4-4a90-8f45-60ae6dd2bad0/000044790021.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/402817/28dfe766-b22a-4b9d-89bf-d14349847ffe/000044790009.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/402817/2a6d19ce-8bc5-4a81-87f3-0d20cf1e7985/000044790005.jpg I'd like to think I've improved, if only a little, since last time.

It felt so good to have a different lens on my camera though I do miss the version I had with a stabiliser that mysteriously dissapeared under the hands of a cheap removal company my parents hired. Not used this camera in a while, it doesn't hold up very well, the terrible noise performance turns a lot of images into mush but there's just something about a full frame that feels so good. Going to look into Nvidia Optix and see if it's possible for me to train a denoiser on images from this camera. Snapped these on my way home from work. https://www.flickr.com/photos/wickerman123/46791215152/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/wickerman123/39878289553/in/photostream/ Any tips for capturing photos in these sort of lighting conditions?

Keep doing what you are doing
I know I don't exactly post much here, but I really like taking a look at all the pictures you guys are taking - anyway, my internet is kinda slow (~10mbit), and to be honest, some of the images posted on here are just way higher resolution than they need to be in order to be enjoyed. I don't mind downloading a single 30MB photo, but when people are posting multiple photos each, and the pages get longer, loading this page just to see one new post gets kinda old. Don't know how many have as shit internet as I do, but could I request people to make an effort to resize photos to (at most) 4K, since I doubt anyone is using higher resolution monitors than that? Alternatively just link the high resolution version? Thanks in advance.
softbox?
22 inch octobox.
I do the same. TBH unless you're doing a specific look, most food photography uses a softbox.
Does it really make a huge difference? I got an octobox due to the more circular lights it produces in eyes but didn't know that it produced different results in product/food photography compared to a softbox.
Not that much tbh. Like you said, its down to personal preference, the catchlights is the only big noticeable difference. Some like the round one cause it looks like the sun, some like the square because it looks like a window. Difference comes in when you want to see how big of a area your light covers, so say a 120cm square softbox will obviously cover a wider area than say an 80cm one. And strip softboxes has another difference, they create a narrow 'strip' of light. Personally, its that and the fact that octabox are easy to set up. Square softboxes are a pain in the ass out on location. Good video on lighting equipments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRZJTXiVFIs&ab_channel=RGGEDU

While I appreciate the response I'm not sure waht to take away from this? Keep going and get better with practice or was there something I did right in the photos I posted that I should focus on?
I like your editing and you captured the ambiance well.
