My friend and I are currently discovered a new nothing. Described as "a new nothing presents a series of two-person, image-based conversations" And even though we live on opposite sides of the world here are some of our firsts. The gist of this 'back and forth' image response is to take a photo in response to the first photo. That response can be something simple like the composition, or the juxtaposition of landscape photography to photography of the streets at night, responding to a photo mainly composed of blue undertones and then the next response would be something that highlights green and a warmer temperature. Here are our first few images and what I''d like to point out the link between them was. This was the starting photo from my close friend Charlie https://i.imgur.com/n78IzWG.png My response was below. Responding to his image by shooting landscape, in a mostly dim area,, contrasting between his well lit area. As well as the punchy colours - juxtaposing his first image of a quite neutral but warm tones. https://i.imgur.com/IMmGt0T.jpg He responded with a almost polar opposite of my photo. But remained with the composition. There's the day/night comparison of course. As well as the contrasting weather conditions between the two. And a lovely shot overall in my opinon https://i.imgur.com/gm0USLi.png My response was this photo, the goal here was to do almost the exact opposite but still keeping a theme. We've gone from outdoor snowy blue conditions, to the inside out looking view https://i.imgur.com/fTXRadC.jpg For anyone who struggled with doing a 365 like I did, this is a beautiful way to challenge yourself both in creativity and thinking outside of the box. As you can update this conversation every week, 2 weeks or whenever you have the perfect idea for a picture Constructive criticism welcome. These are just the first 4 photos so we get the hang of it more as time goes on. But what do you guys think?

I've been feeling really uninspired lately. Idk what it is, but in lieu of photography I've been picking up music production as a hobby. But I still have been shooting. Not as much, but still. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4813/46080630325_8744009bfa_b.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4909/46073674785_d40b1b92c3_b.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4864/33119956458_c6c6b467e1_h.jpg
Winter's not a great time of year for shooting in general tbh
Took my camera out for the first time in a long time. It shows. There's more shit on my Flickr but it's not worth spamming it all here. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4879/33133528168_74a59cd685_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4892/40044238023_f617c0e085_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4895/32067497177_aa5233d168_c.jpg Another drone Pano https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4872/46957006562_74c948ea5d_c.jpg
TBH I think its not a very good reasoning. Work with your environment, don't make them work for you. You can try winter themed portraits, snowy landscapes, street photos etc. Or hell, get your head thinking and think of stock images news sites could use etc. Its the same with rain and etc. Example: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/113069/34c819b0-51dc-4994-9fe9-2679e557653f/image.png
I didn't say it was impossible to shoot in winter, but it's definitely the slowest time of year.
Did they ever get the clock to work?
no

Went into the city today, took a lot of photos. Currently slogging through them all, but here are some that I already like. https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7915/46318714294_7317316faf_b.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7864/40077824523_d05f1636ee_b.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7869/47042946071_f7fc6735e4_b.jpg

I like the first one. The second one I like a lot too, the colors are really nice but I feel like her face has been smoothed too much, or something. But absolutely very painterly.
this is more suited for a discussion thread but the one i found was closed, but i thought i should share this. I'm obsessing over what camera I am going to buy next, based on the aspect ratio alone. Since the physical scale of the frame doesnt matter to me, I make this pic to compare the various film aspect ratios, I couldn't find one I like so I made one. https://i.imgur.com/6gW0kPJ.jpg i'm taking a class called landscapes as fine art, and I want to get the best aspect ratio for landscapes, I'm stuck between 645 and 6x7
Thought I'd join in. Usually hang out in another section. Received camera as a gift. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/216541/8b2ab059-635d-4963-8b80-4e5f89cc437f/IMG_1900.JPG https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/216541/188c1150-8fb3-4cf9-ad4b-287974ae3191/IMG_1882a.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/216541/4fc3a6a6-2eab-4ad3-9bdb-b760f05c2605/12.JPG https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/216541/3bc2a6f0-7972-4430-b8bc-6299ee5fe144/1.JPG

looks like the "my summer car" car
surprised their vin plates aren't up on ebay yet as memorabilia
Not sure where else to ask, but: thoughts on the Fujifilm X-T10? I found one, second hand at 8 months old, with a 16-50mm lens for $430, no shipping fees. Itching a bit.
There's a gear discussion thread FYI
