Oh boy a Lego thread! Figured I might show off my collection of sets and MOCs I've built over the years. The pictures are shitty due to a combination of shitty lighting, a mediocre camera on my phone and my shaky hands.

MOCs I've built from scratch are on the left, official sets on the right and the top of the shelf.

This one is my pride and joy. 95% custom build, double piston supported legs, arms made from Toa Metru torsos, frickin huge wings and an awful sense of balance.
(I stuffed paper in his ball joints to add some more support cause his limbs are fucking heavy and can barely stay up on their own)

If you can't tell by the name and the avatar I really, really like Bionicle

A magical guy/gal I built a couple of years ago for the Gen2 villains' contest and was kinda proud of. That photo-editing, though.

It's clearly obvious that anything post-2004 was more sci-fi and less "mysterious" compared to the first 3 years - Bionicle was originally planned for 3 years only as it was LEGO's plan for survival (HP and SW were profitable but most profits went to WB and Lucasfilm), and it worked well. Very well.
So then they decided to keep milking it until they could; IIRC Lego decided to end it in 2008 but it gave the team 2 more years to wrap up the story and all.

Nah, the reason we got 2009 was because it was already done by 2008, it was the 2010 mini wave that the team had to fight and pray to get, leaving Bionicle as the legendary Lego line due to having an actual ending.
Sometimes it's fun to play with older sets, here's my try to make something out of a few slizers.

Pretty basic, but these guys didn't have much, plus it gives them their own charm, and perhaps the only time axel trough the holes of the socket trick was used in an actual set (8523)
holy shit slizers
now there's a name i haven't heard in over a decade

I loved attaching those disk throwing arms to every other set and having battles when I was a kid.

But damn, I'd buy it just for the minifig hands/gloves.

God damn, you always manage to make excellent use of obscure pieces; those transparent tube pieces for the shoulders really are a highlight.
I'd always wanted to make something with the NYCC 2014 Hau, but Lego still hasn't made any transparent CCBS pieces.
Maybe I should really start experimenting System and CCBS properly together.

were the instructions for that lewa ever posted? I can guess the legs/arms but the body looks difficult to replicate.

IIRC the guy who made that Lewa and the other Toa Mata had to modify and cut pieces to make them. I think he said that he wasn't going to post instructions.

That looks really nice. Too bad I don't have the space for that tho.
May 4th, get some exclusive bricki at your local lego store. NA gets a buildable figure-ish scale R2D2
Also, UCS snowspeeder hits today!
Oh, forgot to post the new leaks here was well!

It's cool that they're being super generous with the ninjago movie minifigs. if you buy smart you should be able to buy like, 2-3 sets and have the entire good guy cast.

Made this The Expanse-inspired fighter for a contest on Flickr the other day, just finished doing a quick edit shot of it in GIMP today.
Basically a jerry-rigged fightercraft made from a large reactor module, fusion drive, 2 MPD thrusters, station scraps and cockpit with weapons.

all four of these badasses in a single battlepack. holy fuckkkkkk thanks lego
I actually prefer the FO battlepack; I guess it's because of a cheap flametrooper.
Also, I've come back from the London Westfield LEGO store, and here's some news for other British users:
1. The Saturn V might come out on June 1st, but apparently if you ask for it (it's not on shelves yet) they can sell it to you, because apparently John Lewis is already selling it; but I don't know if it's the same in other LEGO stores.
2. Most Summer Wave sets are out.
3. Ninjago Movie sets come out in August, according to the manager.
LEGO's finally revealed their D2C NINJAGO set, NINJAGO City, $300 USD. Now this is a beut of a set.

They also revealed most of the 1st wave sets and half of the CMF!
I have to admit, they're really going all out with this Movie.
Also the Destiny's Bounty is gorgeous.

Hi all, unfortunately I'm having to sell a very sizable chunk of my LEGO collection. I'll be moving out soon in the near future and I don't want to burden my parents by filling one of the rooms with a bunch of LEGO and boxes.
However, I've run into a problem, many of the sets, while boxed, are definitely missing pieces. I was dumb enough to have some mixed some into several boxes. So while most of the sets have the majority of pieces, it's a headache to know that I'll have to recount every single piece for some of them (and several of the sets I have are huge).
What's the best way to go about this? Pour all the pieces out (a metric ton) and sort them and then count? Or hope for the best and just look through the boxes? I figure someone here must have a similar experience.
Additionally, while I'd rather sell my sets local, perhaps if someone's interested here I might be inclined to sell to individuals here. I have plenty of old early 2000s sets from a buttload of themes
