Definitely iconic enough. Good job on differentiating them. Considering it is for girl scouts, I don't think they are overly cute (they are just right).

I'm not totally sure WHAT exactly is wrong with it, but in my opinion the minotaur just looks a bit strange. I think the browline (which is asymmetric in a bad way) doesn't really work. Also the distance between the mouth and snout seems off. I realize the ring from the nose is where the mouth would ideally go. I'm not sure how to solve it, but it feels off. The nose doesn't look particularly cow like either, seems more pigish. I might also make his eyes a little bit bigger and further apart to help fill out his huge head.

The other thing I would say is that from a marketing standpoint, these are sweet cookies being sold by youngish girls and represents kind of "family / american" values. On that note, the troll looks a little bit devilish right now, with the red colour and horns. Probably wouldn't fly with the largely Christian demographic.
Can someone please explain to me why Microsoft put a key in the registry that turns Helvetica to Arial? Because that seems really stupid.
Even if you have the Helvetica font family installed, it still defaults to Arial when Helvetica is requested. And Arial is shit. I inverted the key, so now all Arial shows up as Helvetica.
Here's something I just finished

Can any of you recommend useful font and non-royalty/free image sites?

"The Birthplace of Broadcast Since 1932" *might* read better, or at least get rid of "Home of".
The Antennea graphic is nice but seems to compete with the station's frequency, which by the way, seems a bit too basic looking. I always thought the idea of adverstising for radio is to make the station frequency memorable. So I'd say make the antennea graphic a tad smaller and add a splash of more styling to the fequency, then you should be good.
For fonts I use fontspace and dafont but I'm sure people who do this for a living have better places to look.
Also I updated the first one and made a new one.

There's always Unsplash. Problem is it's quite popular and there aren't many images uploaded on it so you can end up using the same picture as loads of others. It can be good for digging through sometimes though.
As for fonts, honestly, I couldn't recommend the (fairly) cheap "portfolio" yearly subscription to Typekit more. Loads of great fonts on there and integrates well with adobe applications with its sync feature.
While I'm throwing out links, and because there's always people in this thread saying "I wish I could start in graphic design but x", there's currently a great deal on Skillshare where you can get 3 months subscription for $0.99 and there's some great stuff on there for learning.
i cobbled together a thing for Mother 4 in my spare time:

its based on the original artwork of the super famicom release of mother 2, i dont think i can do much with it beyond this, any cc is appreciated.
it looks pretty faithful to the original but the fonts and margins look like they need adjustment

Arial is Microsoft's version of Helvetica, so they want you to use it instead. Hadn't heard about anything like that key before though.

I realize this is a very late reply haha, but I had a suggestion. Maybe after the block spins into the circle for when it says "getting started is simple" a cursor should go and click the circle to turn it into the dollar sign. Just seems like getting started is simple doesn't actually have its own image / symbol.

I would definitely agree with you that the fonts and margins need some work. I would suggest the border needs some work too. The rest of the logo is so bold and solid that the slim white border feels weird. Also, as opposed to the previous years logo (where there is a LARGE central element to the logo which grounds everything) the one you are showing has 4 separate small elements which just kind of float on the black background (cavequest, cgc, crew, and the fire). I would recommend copying the previous years logo a bit more and making the fire (which I like by the way) a much larger element, almost MIMICing the way the mountains are in the previous year.
In regards to the Cave Quest logo, your font probably looks fucked up because (I think) you've used the Arc warp in Illustrator. Try using the Text on Path tool to achieve the same effect but it will not distort the letters.
oh I didn't even know that was a thing, that would have been useful in the past.

i won't spam you guys with updates, but here's the most recent iteration. I actually want to make the fire smaller to emphasize the darkness. It looks a bit childish with the thick border so that's another thing I'll have to adjust.
I like the new font for the top text, I have to say though that the other font really doesn't jive with the theme or the "cave quest" font.
I would also consider the balance of the logo inside the circle. The fire right now is central, which is good, but the proximity of the CGC CREW to the bottom of the fire makes it look kind of bottom heavy (or at least it makes it look like the fire ISN'T central).
Just some more of my thoughts. Looking good though.
I am forever looking in this thread without posting content. I think I need to stop doing that.
Here's a visual marque concept I did up last night for part of a personal brand project for myself.

I love this.
Not entirely sure if this is the right place to post this, but I drew up a design that I made into a t-shirt

Pretty unrelated, Redbubble's copyright policy is very inconsistent.
They remove anything willy nilly when they get an e-mail from any artist or company, doesn't matter if the content falls in fair use.
I had a really simple design that brought in a nice sum of money for 3 months straight, it got removed and I had no way get it reinstated. The company that had it removed, refused to answer my messages.
Anyway, watch out with what you post on Redbubble. The more popular IPs get removed for any bullshit reason, but they keep as many up that are the same as the removed designs.
i sell my own custom movie posters on the redbubs and none have ever been taken down

Come on, this is totally as good as everything else. If I ordered t-shirts online I would definitely consider it.
i sell my own custom movie posters on the redbubs and none have ever been taken down
I make really simple stuff though. I have a hunch that some of the stuff that Redbubble removed, only happened because some other people with similar designs reported it to the companies that own the IPs.
The reason I think that is because their stuff is still on Redbubble and now is one of the very few left.
It's very frustrating to get it removed unfairly, but having found out how much a popular t-shirt can earn you, it really stings to see similar designs still up.
I made this yard sign, feel free to tell me what's terrible about it before I get a bunch printed:

A lot of the design elements I borrowed from here, save the fonts, since those are purchased.
New Jersey feels a bit cramped up there, in my opinion. And the 17 in 17th could be cap height.
My very first impression was that the silhouette of new jersey was a cartoonish bust of Bernie. :v: but I'm an idiot so I wouldn't worry about it

I think it's pretty cramped too, but I don't want to make someone who's just passing through NJ think they're deadline is later than it truly is. That may be a negligible concern, but who knows!
[editline]28th March 2016[/editline]
So I updated it with more detail and some small adjustments.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/lVGSmJG.png[/t]
Considering it is a yard sign, its mostly going to be seen by people driving by. In that regard, I think the silhouette of New Jersey and the name "New Jersey," is useless. People seeing it are in New Jersey and know where they are. This will allow the sign to read more clearly quickly and at distances.
Along the same lines, get those two bullet points out of there, they aren't necessary. If anything just add www. --- and sanders.com/NJ around the existing Bernie logo.
The main goal of a sign like this is to tell people to REGISTER TO VOTE BY MAY 17th (register to vote being as important as the date), the only other thing of importance is that it is associated with Bernie.
So in a really distilled version it would have REGISTER TO VOTE BY (in red text) above MAY 17th (in red box) and then under that the Bernie logo would be made bigger to fill the space.
(In other words, your original design was much more effective)

We're planning on having the back of the sign be this:

But maybe we should just have the front be the register deadline without the bullets and the back be the same but for the party affiliation?

Agreed. The second versions on your last post are way better, but still gotta clean off that Nude Jerksy stain.
