-snip I misread what you typed, I actually really like the idea. -
Thanks.
In contrast to Xieneus, I think the usage of negative space there is quite interesting, although, I didn't see it at first until you explained it, which is a problem. I'm thinking it's coming down to the execution of the design. You could make it a lot cleaner (and thus, more readable) by keeping the stroke widths more consistent. The perspective is also really weird and untidy.

I do think you have an idea there and I think if you wanted to spend more time on it that pulling out a sketchbook and scribbling a few different ways to form the shape would help you out.

Thanks for the actual useful comments. Good ideas throughout. It was just a 20 min exercise, just kind of sketched it up while I was bored and then just kind of illustrated and exported the first one, but I'm glad to get constructive criticism. The perspective issues are due to me throwing a random warp on it just to try to make it a bit more dynamic lol.
Your version works in some ways a lot better and not so much in others. The O's read a lot better and the logo feels more balanced, but it wouldn't work as well in black & white. The line weights is something I fiddled with for most of the time, but I couldn't get a good perspective effect and consistent line-weights at the same time.
I think it might be one of those elusive ideas that seems perfect in mental land, but never REALLY works once on paper. The 'T' never really fits perfect either.
Here is the logo without the warp:

Without the warp it already looks much better.
what's really bugging me about that one is the line weight and consistencies

my friend is going to college and she wants to start a mini business selling bubble tea and painting nails from her dorm. i don't know how well these two things mix but i made that for her for when she prints business cards and posters.

I agree with you totally. When I do an official logo for someone this is the aspect of the design I generally spend the most time on.

The font could be given a bit more work. The logo itself is actually fairly successful and readable, I feel like I knew what it was at first or second glance. However, I would have some comments:
- It is a little dull colour wise, maybe experiment with some of the other bright colours of bubble tea or having more than one or something.
- The smallest of the bubbles should be deleted as they are almost invisible even at the largest size and they are just over complicating the design.
- In my opinion: look at the smallest version you posted: delete all those smallest bubbles and find a way to achieve the same "painted nail" effect with just the mid to large sized bubbles.
- One thing I would suggest is to do a black & white only version, this will bring up some problems with the design potentially. It is almost always helpful for refining a logo and making it more legible.
Good start though imo. I think she will like it.

Also, this logo that I posted earlier actually won the competition against 99 other submissions. My first national competition win and the first large organization outside of my city which will use one of my logos. Super surprised, but pretty excited. I didn't spend super much time on the logo because it was a competition and I didn't expect any payment, so there are a bunch of things I would tweak or change, but they seemed to like it. I want to make it read better in the b/w variants and play with the spacing of things a bit more.

agree for left, disagree for middle, dumb for right
Left one. I realize you are pretty much done this atm, but you should check to see what it looks like if you flip the fire horizontally. It would give you a bit more space on the side with "crew" which could then be moved in a bit to give it more padding from the outside circle. The different distances between the outside circle on VBS and CREW make it feel a little off centre to me.
Feel free to disagree. Other than that though, I'd say it will look quite good on a shirt. I like the general aesthetic and the cave quest font works really well with the fire.
I wish I thought of that before I sent it off.
Here's what it looks like based on your suggestion.

it's going to bother me when I look at it now.
Sorry man, didn't mean to do that! The other version was good too, I thought I'd try to just sneak one more suggestion in before the wire!
Don't worry about it, take pride in the fact that somebody is printing your work on a shirt and wearing it on their chest!
You will likely never notice it in real life anyways, shirts hardly hang perfectly straight and unwrinkled.
Anyone here got dribbble?
Anyone here got dribbble?
Ye! I meant to post it here before but it left my mind. Anyone else got it, will definitely follow.
https://dribbble.com/WilliamIPark
I started an instagram page to post my work the other day. It's not ideal but I like it because I can share photos of my work alongside the digital stuff.
No dribbble, just my portfolio site which is dire need of a content and format update.
www.stefanklassen.com
Is dribbble like behance but just for graphics?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/T7lrFO2.png[/t]
dribbble's cool to look through but a lot of the stuff the fancy ui/ux stuff people put on there is incredibly impractical or overly flashy for no reason, and the illustrations look very similar. maybe i'm missing the point
.... I used to work for a flashy UX company.... I can dig it

To me it's just another place to get yourself out there and known. You can grab inspiration from it but it suffers hard from graphical trends that get burnt out very quickly, in most of its posts, I find.

I'm hoping to push out an image a day for the first two weeks or so of having this instagram page.
does anyone here have experience with generating images through programming or scripting or something like that

Take a look at processing and p5.js.
Haven't used them myself but I've heard great things about them.
Updated logo and theme for the counterstrike "team" (group of friends) I'm on.
The tag has been the[group]. forever, and the brackets are fairly significant within that. So the logo I made has the brackets as one main defining element, and then a mark in the middle which comprises a T, G, and period as the second defining element.

which of the 4 is the best one? we are starting a ultimate frisbee team and i was asked to design some uniforms, the snake icon is temporary as they dont have a mascot yet.
[editline]23rd July 2016[/editline]
also if anybody happens to have a better jersey template, i had to steal the one im using from an online stores web page.
I'd go with either the black one or the third one. Couldn't say why. As for the logo of Delivery Dudes, there isn't much I can say really, its not TOO simple, but it is very simple.
I don't mind it though, I do wonder how legible as two "D's" it will be at a distance though.
In terms of templates I don't have any, but you can probably get some for cheap on envato market.
I like the last one.

This design is fairly simple and boring but it took me a lot longer than I thought it would. Most of my projects are a mess of disconnected paths and random unnecessary points so I tried to keep it clean for this one.

for future reference, if you guys submit .ai files make sure you expand everything and don't have any effects still active. i forgot to do that and the 'roughen' filter i used wasn't a part of the final product. idk how i forgot that, it was one of the first things i learned when i started my internship.
Update on my animefaceualizer thingamabob
Figured out how to mask with CSS and added excessive amounts of visual flair for better or worse

You can take a closer look at it here and if you're webdev savvy feel free to rip my terrible code apart and tell me how bad it is.
Thats super awesome honestly. There is a lot of visual flair for sure, but somehow it doesn't seem excessive. Maybe that is just because I relate anime / electronic music with excess haha.
What context are you using this in?
