It's mainly just for practice and the more fun side of my wip portfolio. I like making dynamic things with code rather than static illustrations/video as much I can.
Well, however messy the code may be ( Im not one to judge), i bet you could sell something like that and make a couple bucks.
How profitable is Redbubble for you guys?
not very

Kinda fuzzy on GD, but I'm working on making the logo for my old wheels since there is no real digital picture of the logo online, it's some real old and obscure stuff.
Anyone have any recommendations on what font to use for the lettering? Already tried identifont and whatthefont already.
Shouldn't be hard to make it yourself imo. Looks like Arial Rounded with bumped up thickness would work decent as a base font. Then I imagine you know how to do the rest.

I recently got the huion for my birthday and it seems to be a good quality one for the price and responsive. I haven't used it all that much yet since I haven't had the time to really sit down and draw except for dumb doodles, and it's my first tablet. It will be nice not having to scan things in. :v:

Looks nice. I have a tablet back from my attempts at digital painting. Should really try to find a reason to use it for something these days. Someone at work uses it as their mouse, but that would drive me nuts.
So I got hired to make a CSGO betting site.... then Valve decided to shut down all the betting sites. This is some of my best work (not great by any means being that I am still pretty young and inexperienced). It sucks that Valve came to the decision - I never got to see my work in use.

Older version, but animated. The loading gif was my first time ever doing motion design - I think it turned out alright.

i'm not sure what's with the diagonal green and red, it's super distracting. same with the bubbles? not sure what they have to do with a shooty video game.
i'd choose that red you have and replace all the green entirely. other than that it's nice
your site has a lot of random elements and it doesn't look very coherent. from a ux standpoint i don't like how everything's so spread apart.
i went to a microsoft store for the first time today and they had the adobe CC installed on their computers, including illustrator and photoshop. i have no idea how sensitive the stylus is but the surfaces in particular would be pretty great for graphic design and digital art.
actually after writing that i realized that most modern laptops have touchscreens and possibly styluses so i'm not actually sure. i might need a new laptop next year because the battery life on this machine sucks, what do you guys use.
also i took on a bit of logo work for these two people who run instagram accounts for people who are into cars and i'm struggling a bit. one of them is kind of a mess because it has a shit ton of elements in it, like a laurel, a wing badge, and another logo within the logo, all of which he requested. the other dude i'm working with has a simple request but i don't have the right fonts for what he needs.
i have a surface book and the stylus is so good. it's the best laptop i've ever owned tbh
Thanks for the feedback guys - really appreciate it. This website was more of an experimentation, and heavily influenced by my employer. They wanted it to be as flashy as possible rather than subtle.
Quick logo and Comm. Badge I made for the Star Trek Table Top I'm part of. Fairly generic I realize, but I wanted it to feel familiar to the other Star Trek Comm. Badges. Just did the effects in Illustrator because it is late at night and I'm tired.

friend made a rap song about a jewish rapper at his school and asked me to make cover art for it.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/XUB78wt.png[/t]
this was from the first one he did, and he used some shitty camera to take the pic so i didn't have much to work with.
Is it supposed to be a parody / joke song? I couldn't tell you exactly why, but the covers give off a parody vibe. I would say simple is best in this case.

Don't need the holes burning in it. Don't need two of him. Don't need the Menorahs.
Just have him, a gray background, and somewhere small the word "forgiveness."
Also shrink the Parental Advisory thing. Doesn't need to be so big as if it is some kind of achievement or award.
(When you aren't given much to work with, then it is best to not work with much in my opinion. Adding extra stuff to photographs often just comes off looking amateur unless you are super good at effects.)
o he specifically requested the menorah and i agree with the simplicity sentiment.

I think you've done a pretty good job there, considering it's for something casual. I like the colours you've gone with.
I don't think you should use the whole thing for your avatar because it looks really cramped. Just use the circular bit in the middle. The text is completely illegible in your avatar in the second picture.

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it.
I'll fiddle around and see if I can come up with something better for the avatar.

Simply exactly what you said - just the circular part in the center.

does anyone know what's going on
when i hold shift to make a square artboard it actually just maintains the aspect ratio of the previously selected artboard instead of making it square
[editline]5th October 2016[/editline]
please someone help
but sidenote - one of my instructors has asked me to do a demo of illustrator for the class because he doesn't use it all that often and i'm probably more familiar with it. he teaches a 3D class for drafting and stuff so illustrator skills are useful but not necessary.
i'm going to start by explaining the differences between raster and vector graphics and what illustrator is for. after that i think it's just going to be a runthrough of some of the tools and shortcuts so they can do what they need to do.

here's some stuff i've been working on btw
So, in Illustrator, while using the Artboard tool, holding shift allows you to create a new artboard within an existing artboard. I think that because of this, its function as equalizing proportions (making square) is probably overridden and it is probably set to copy the proportions of the artboard that it is being made "within."
The only way I have found around this is simply to manually make a square artboard by typing in the numbers. After that you can shift drag and it will copy that square artboard.

Nice cozy kids logo, I like the first one the most.
