Do videos count? If not, I'll get rid of it. I made this in a rush in 2010. The amount of photoshop work, 3DS max work and Sony Vegas work was... painful.
Well, it is a bit janky, but I finally got my website switched over to wordpress and all my half-decent logos uploaded. Its a bit content thin right now, but I don't have time to do much else right now. www.stefanklassen.com
Finished the Continent map for my D&D universe: [t]https://i.imgur.com/c565VYe.jpg[/t]
I'm totally useless at any design whatsoever but my friend asked me to make a logo for their LGBT film organization [t]https://horobox.co.uk/u/f13qsv.png[/t] For being effectively a first-timer, I don't think it's awful. Enormously generic and derivative, but it's clean enough to be functional. I need to learn more about line weight.
Other than shutters in logos being pretty cliche, it's not bad at all. The thick lines, fat text, and rainbow color scheme go together really well to create a sense of nostalgia. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but it screams "retro VHS company" in a good way.

[editline]8th March 2018[/editline] I also didn't want to do a shutter but that's what they wanted.
i think there are a handful of retro rainbow logos you could look at for further inspiration, apple being one of them. i really dig the filmation logo and i want it on a shirt

I'm really far behind right now, because the physical boxes should be mocked up with all sides completed by the next class and I'm still figuring shit out about how the boxes should look. I'm also supposed to mock up a brand standards manual which sounds fun but I'm still struggling lol.
https://twitter.com/goodbyecomputer/status/967987516342263808 i did more collage work idk
I absolutely love that
Sorry, couldn't find anything for the IBM / Paul Rand thingy, but the boxes are looking great! If you are worried about finishing the project on time, I'd say you could probably move on to just getting the mock-ups ready, cause they look done! Abstract, but quite nice. I realize the muted tones is probably intentional, but it does feel a little low on contrast. You should make something pop a little more! - Also, I'm glad this thread just transitioned over. I really like the new features of newpunch since the last time I came here.
Not an excuse but yeah, colorblindness makes it especially hard for me to get a decent contrasting layout up https://78.media.tumblr.com/4c162414b634cbe19cba29d4f220ab51/tumblr_oztvi9QMl81r5chm0o1_1280.png I've tried it in the past but I am not really happy with the contrast in these, though i think ive gotten better
Oh, well that sucks. It isn't bad by any means, but just a little drab. The one you just posted is better because of the bright background colour. I think in the other one, I would probably just make the skull a little brighter and then brighten up the yellow of the sky if it were up to me. Would make them feel a bit more unified too. Really cool images though.
This forum is better designed but im also afraid of change
I'm just frustrated that I have to use coins to change my name back to Smeetin because I chose a different name earlier on in newpunch due to ignorance with how the transition would work. Anyways... Here is a logo I just did. I don't know how public it is, so to be on the safe side I won't show the title, but just know that the keyword was "Transform" and it was supposed to be about moving from traditional to progressive. As such, the 'T' Transforms from its rigid original form and begins to point upwards and onwards TO THE FUTURE! https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/798/60e30440-598b-4583-bcd9-4e2657636663/Transphorm-01.jpg
Relatively recently, I started a small game dev company for my friends and I's projects. Did this logo myself after running through a few iterations - I'm really satisfied with how it came out. I feel like the roughed up edges seem a little too placed and not like genuine distress, and the dissolve at the bottom also feels the same being only down there. Here's something fun: print a version without any distress onto some photo paper, rub it around on the floor, and scan it. Then try overlaying it perfectly with the clean version and maybe making a high pass from it and using that to create more realistic looking distress.
That's an awesome idea, I didn't even think of that. I'll have to try it - thanks for the advice!
nothing super special but I'm working on a menu for my game https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/222955/6f14fd52-c5bb-4d31-b56d-587f38a83313/7ajI.png the color can be changed by altering a script, but I've been thinking of making it so you can select ui colors in the options screen. which would then also affect the inventory bar
so I've been trying to devise a sort of visual identity for my online alias, I think I've got a nice concept but im not sure about the execution of it: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132451/447af6e9-de0c-47d6-9791-103c4a9a025f/lavabannerv2-4.png I think the typography needs fixing most of all. What are your guys' thoughts?
I love the stylization of the text, fits the vibe very well. The first suggestion I have is changing the 'a's from lowercase to uppercase. They clash with the uppercase letters a bit, especially the third one. That stretched out terminal feels really out of place. Besides that, here's a really quick mock-up with a couple improvements I'd recommend experimenting with: https://i.imgur.com/AE28VnZ.png
https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/108645/b9955e5b-056b-4a29-8bc4-b7b1a1a760bf/Ncompassmap.png Made a logo for a group, any thoughts or criticisms?
it's bloody massive m8
it's not really a logo, it's a graphic. logo's need to work big, small, at a distance, use only a few colours, be readable, etc i don't think this works as one as you've added too much detail and there is no contrast around the name as well as being too photographic
The logo I made, and have a version of the only thing I didnt make is the map
genuine thoughts: how is this going to be used? because if it's going on hats, shirts, social media avatars, stickers, etc, it's got a lot of fine granular details that might not hold up well when reduced in size. I'm assuming the background is for flavor and not part of the logo itself. do you have any reduced treatments, do you compensate for sizing changes, etc
Here's the logo https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/108645/f37c3f7e-97d6-4a1a-aa72-de42c63a312a/Compasswords.png
Honestly I'd just make the N° the logo, and reserve the whole name for stickers and the such
Agreed. This logo could be a nightmare to get prepared for fine printing and for embroidery / clothing, etc. A simpler section of it, and something with a little less fine detail would do wonders. I really like the aesthetic you have going on with it though, and the compass symbol itself is quite nice.
Does anybody recognize the font on this logo? https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/16/Tstv2006.png I'm making some new images for these folks but I can't recognize the font, even without the tweaks to it from the logo.
