Saw this one of Link in the 2D Digital forum. I really like your style. I'm a big fan of drawing with ink and marker, too, but persective and backgrounds are a nightmare for me. When I first looked at your work, it took me a moment to realize that they were fictional; they look like real places! At least- you know, real places that you referenced then embelished with fantasy.
Your work is very inspiring. You say you studied and built up your library of knowledge to draw these powerful environments. That's encouraging to hear, because that's exactly what I did with everything else I draw. Sometimes I forget that drawing backgrounds doesn't have to be hard, I just need to build my knowledge.
cheers!
yeah perspective/backgrounds aren't something you must be a savant to deal with, they just require some skills you can learn like anything else. I teach this stuff on the side from time to time by the way, if you'd be interested don't hesitate to get in touch. you have a very strong base of drawing, with a bit of filling in fundamental knowledge here and there your work could be at a pretty high level pretty rapidly.
if you've built an intuitive grasp on drawing characters then you should have no problem doing so for environments at all. if you ask me it's rather easier haha.. you just need to dedicate a bit of time to it.
