The afternoon commute.
Does anyone in this theead have experience with black and white photgraphy using old cameras (if its the Kodak Vest Pocket Camera even better), along with developing and printing photos from film (127 perhaps?)

oo thanks! Just my 550D/T2i and the Sigma 18-35 (@f1.8, 800iso), the train went through a tunnel and lights outside from the right got me some stark lighting
Here are some shots from my latest roll of film. Lady Grey iso 400. Any good?
Most of these were taken with a Canon sureshot A1. I shot this roll with two different cameras about a year apart so I can't remember the first one. Some shots are double exposed.

cuz this thread used to be great and now it's a complete joke, which is frustrating, so my only hope for combating it is dishing out overly harsh but totally valid criticism in the hope that some effort might make it's way into the thread
There was a hip vintge market around the corner at my mom's house when I came over for the weekend.

Fucking brilliant, are you also one of those who believes that fatshaming works?
Here's a better way of handling your issue: Make a thread where you explain basics of composition and the art of photography, use your own (or others) people's images as examples of how to or not to do when taking pictues.
Have that thread function as a place where people post their pictures with questions such "does this framing work" etc. where more pictures would be posted. Encourage people posting questionably "good" pictures in that thread instead of this thread so that the pictures posted here hopefully are more qualitative ones.
I'd do it myself but I don't have an issue with people posting in this thread the way you do.
sorry i made a typo i meant cuz it's funny
I don't understand though, why are you even reading this thread?
You don't want us posting bad pictures but at the same time you don't want to do anything about it besides being a prick.
I just don't see how you would get any enjoyment out of it, if it's a "complete joke".
it was a valid criticism, if a little bit rough-edged. okay? it's no big deal.

Ergo decedo. If I don't like it, my options aren't "learn to like it" or "leave". (fallacy) “You probably think fat shaming works” That’s a red-herring, and you’re using iffy evidence at best to derive your conclusion that I believe that to be the case (non-sequitur). You’re trying to attack my character rather than my argument, and you’re putting words in my mouth. (Strawman).
This thread used to be a place to come for critique, inspiration, and an actual community. Right now (most) people just post and wait to be rated artistic so they can have their quick gratification on lazy work. Critique isn't requested, and when it is, it's ignored. Seriously, go back like 3 or 4 threads, and look at the quality of work, and the amount of actual discussion happening.
The thread was a really incredible resource to grow as a photographer, now it's just a hugbox. When I first started posting, people rated my boring flower photos dumb, and it was hurtful, but looking back, they were dumb! I read the critique and said "What the fuck do they know, they're just stupid hipsters" and kept shooting garbage photos. These “stupid hipsters” are honestly some of the most talented photographers I’ve come to know, and my ridiculous assumptions based on a complete lack of knowledge were dumb.
If you come into this thread and post lazy work, and someone calls you out on it, that shouldn’t be your cue to start whining that so-and-so is an asshole, it’s the chance to either start a discussion, and explain why you think your work might be otherwise, or, god forbid- an opportunity to learn! No one ever improves when all they ever hear is “Wow amazing work, that’s fantastic”. If that’s all you want, I’d highly recommend you check out any number of facebook groups, where you can get such informative feedback as “Great capture!” and “Wonderful focus!”. This thread was never that kind of place, and I hate that that’s the direction it’s headed right now.

You're putting words in my mouth, I never said you had to learn to like it or leave, I suggested that if you don't like it do something about it. The making of a thread example suggesting do something constructive. I took the example of fat shaming as it's not constructive either since people don't learn when they are punished. Me asking about why you read this thread is a literal question, why would you read a thread you clearly don't enjoy? It wasn't a way to say "like it or leave" it was an honest question because I cannot understand the way you think.
Me attacking your person instead of your argument isn't the point. The point isn't whether I thought your criticism was valid or not, it was how you delivered it. As you probably know, the way you give critique effects how the one receiving it actually take it to heart or not. Assuming you want better pictures in here, why don't you give better critique, or none at all?
So how did the critique look that you received. If you received good critique and still reacted like this: "I read the critique and said "What the fuck do they know, they're just stupid hipsters" and kept shooting garbage photos." the fault is on you for not being able to take criticism. If the critique you got were the kind you are dishing out right now you are just proving my point that bad criticism doesn't work. Just because you are talented in one thing (taking pictures for examples) doesn't mean that you're good at everything (giving critique regarding pictures, for example). So the people you know who gave you bad critique could well have been good photographers but awful critics, those two are not synonymous.
Yeah sure, because when asked for criticism before you didn't deliver good criticism that is likely to actually reach someone or lead to an improvement in their work, so it makes sense to ask you for criticism now?
I'd love good criticism, I've asked for it among the first posts I've made in either this thread or the previous thread, but I received none so I stopped asking.
So now this place is bad and before it was good. This is another legitimate question, do you think that you are contributing to making this a place that endorse discussions and good criticism?

no but my pics are good so it does work obvs
i love you two -- the fiery hot passion you have for this photo thread, and your burning sexual desire to make the thread the best it can be is captivating, but if the conversation is to continue, i would suggest taking it to PMs so we can keep the content flowing and the big walls of text to a minimum
