ooooo, I like this, I'd up the saturation a tiny bit to give it more atmosphere personally (not overly so, but just enough to really make things pop, with obvious alterations to the colors to change it up to fit a moodier vibe). Other than that, cool stuff.
[editline]3rd May 2017[/editline]
Also I think the picture would benefit from being a bit softer as well. But like said, personal preference.
I just don't know for who that feedback from kirby even was.
no but my pics are good so it does work obvs
Doesn't mean you have to be mean about it tho. But like someone said earlier, if the argument grows, take it to a private conversation, I understand the intent, but some people are more sensitive, I can be straightforward as well and used to experience the same issues, but it's best to just acknowledge that it's personal preference at the end of the day.

Also shooting for a ballet practice today, a bit nervous about getting good shots because it's been a while, but god damn I hope I get some good shots.

this guy
he takes mostly okay shots (tho not this one so much) but then puts this bizarre watercolor or paint photoshop filter on them and makes em look super weird and wildly overprocessed, kinda moves past photography into something else
EG:

(follow link and zoom in to see what i'm talking about)
(auto, i like ur style and feel like u have a lot of potential but you rob yourself of a lot of substance when you overprocess your work like that, and I feel like giving it that treatment excludes it from a spot in a photography specific thread)

Oh alright, now I get what you mean, didn't check the rest of his photos on flickr.

good.
could have stopped down a bit further to get the center column in focus a bit sharper on the second but not a big deal.
keep an eye on the orange stuff at the top of frame on the first, and the bricks on the left side in the second.
could easily crop those out, good otherwise (2nd one especially is nice)
Second one does look super nice, but those bricks ruin the symmetry imo. Just a tad amount, but like Kirby said, you can crop it and get rid of that.
(I feel like giving it that treatment excludes it from a spot in a photography specific thread)
now here's an interesting conversation. where do you draw the line? is it not still the medium of photography?
now here's an interesting conversation. where do you draw the line? is it not still the medium of photography?
That one's definitely subjective, I only state my opinion there, but to me, if you're applying filters that make it look painted, why not just take up painting? Imo at that point it': onto the realm of digital art, rather than strictly photography
what's the general consensus on a photo such as

I'm not getting a whole lot out of it other than "these things line up."
Which, I guess, it's cool that those things line up, but it's not really saying anything. In the above pictures, you're emphasizing forms, geometry, material and color, and I think that's why those work. Here, I'm just not seeing what you're going for.
That's just my two bits, though. What was your intent for this shot? What do you see in it?
what's the general consensus on a photo such as
the latest boring aesthetic trend. provides the viewer with nothing except "look these objects look like they're close to each other"
like this sort of thing

woah so engaging

Maybe it's just because I'm from this area and familiar with the size of those objects, but to me and everyone i show it's impossible to tell whether the thing below is in the foreground or background. Here's a size reference:

Your soze reference photos is a better photo
Think of your photos as an outside viewer might. I'm not from there, idk that they're not the same size, and i don't really care- if it's only cool to a local, it's probably not a great photo.
rate me artistic or imma quit photography forever. [sp]its in black and white so automatically this is an artistic photo[/sp]

bring up your exposure and fix that hair, having it go to dead black w/ no detail is a big missed opportunity

yeah, I agree! I tried doing lightroom global edits but, i guess this is when I should be going into photoshop for more refined edits. I really don't like Lightroom's spot edits, it lags even on my desktop

you can do that on lightroom but it is absolutely an iterative process
Here's an image I took a few years ago. Should probably post here cause I take a lot of photos but I never put them anywhere.

I signed up to Tumblr just now to put my images here, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to want to upload uncompressed images. Is there a way to get around this?
Alright, first time shooting my Leica M3. Using Ilford HP5 film. Pretty happy with the sharpness of this lens. Used the sunny 16 rule since I don't have a light meter yet. Any crits?

@KlaseR: I think that location has a lot of potential, but I'm not sure those are the strongest photographs you could have made. They seem really similar to the kind of urbex stuff everyone does. Also, your colors are just kind of flat and muddy; are you doing any post-processing at all on these?
I think out of all of those, the third is probably the most interesting. Everything else seems, to me at least, very derivative and uninspired.
Here are some shots from my latest roll of film. Lady Grey iso 400. Any good?
Most of these were taken with a Canon sureshot A1. I shot this roll with two different cameras about a year apart so I can't remember the first one. Some shots are double exposed.
