Thanks! That's one of my favorites of the roll!
you can do that on lightroom but it is absolutely an iterative process
yeah played around a bit with the adjustment brush again. It's not as laggy as I remembered. I think I'm just scared of doing spot adjustments because I feel like they might look unnatural but it looked p good actually.
I went to this abandoned area to shoot a music video. Took the occasion to shoot some graffiti and stuff [t]http://i.imgur.com/j9VHTc9.jpg[/t]
I agree with El periodista. I'm no master photographer myself but maybe you should try getting there when the sun is setting to get some more interesting light like what you almost have going in the picture I left in the quote. Then you'd have overall darker light but the sunlight still being very bright. The composition could also be better, at the moment I feel that the subject isn't accompanied by anything worth looking at.
why take pics of someone else's art never understood graffiti pics that don't add anything

[editline]4th May 2017[/editline]
why take pics of someone else's art never understood graffiti pics that don't add anything
If it happens to complement another part of the picture unrelated to the piece itself I think it can work, but on it's own I agree.
Alright, first time shooting my Leica M3. Using Ilford HP5 film. Pretty happy with the sharpness of this lens. Used the sunny 16 rule since I don't have a light meter yet. Any crits?
why take pics of someone else's art never understood graffiti pics that don't add anything
in my opinion it can be documentary photography of a certain subculture, if done right.
I get them developed atm, I scan the negatives myself though. I will start developing soon though. Can't wait to have my own dark room
uncompressed beign what format? flickr is a good bet for quality
By uncompressed I mean resized, which means that uncompressed is completely irrelevant considering the format is JPEG. Yes, I know RAW is where it's at, but I don't have the time, money or skills to be able to edit the photos in Lightroom or anything like that. I actually think I have a Flickr account, let me check...
@KlaseR: I think that location has a lot of potential, but I'm not sure those are the strongest photographs you could have made. They seem really similar to the kind of urbex stuff everyone does. Also, your colors are just kind of flat and muddy; are you doing any post-processing at all on these? I think out of all of those, the third is probably the most interesting. Everything else seems, to me at least, very derivative and uninspired.
I was really just dicking around, I didn't go there to shoot photos. But yeah thanks for the critique, I also prefer the third one out of the bunch. I did some post regarding levels, but didn't work much with the colors.

Where are you, west coast?

Live in the California in the Central Valley. I met a couple of FP people (Foosili and Mbbird) but they aren't active anymore on here but that was dope meeting them. I'm probably gonna visit Trog at one point for sure and pay my respects. RIP

don't u live sort of nearish me? come on over we can rub our lenses together
So I've realised I really like taking momentary shots of people from a somewhat low angle. Me and some friends were out having picnic on the roof of some building yesterday and I got this shot. Personally I like it, we had been sitting all in a row and when I took these we had two just leaving so there were more going on in the left of the picture. I have no idea if it's actually any good though. I have more pictures when they are all sitting down and those didn't turn out as good. I'm wondering if anyone are any good with these sorts of "momentary" shots of people where there's really just a fraction of a second that looks good? Because if the girl on the right just looked forward instead of in to the camera I don't think it would have been nearly as good a shot. I guess I did the composing of the frame before they actually left but I couldn't really tell it would be a good picture until I had looked at it afterwards because I had a very small time window to get this. What I'm wondering I guess is if it's all luck or if it's just finding a composition that would work when x happens and wait for that to happen?
pics
Pictures from a lower angle than usual eye level are automatically slightly more interesting than photos taken at eye level since it's less common of a perceptive view for most. Seems like a nice moment, I definitely feel somewhat engaged by her pose. You ask 'I have no idea if it's actually any good". Well it depends what you define as 'good'. If by 'good' you mean 'is my shot suitable for a range of advertising purposes' the answer is yes. This shot could advertise a young summer camp, or a Tescos ad, or a 'drink responsibly' ad quite adequately. If by 'good' you mean extraordinarily engaging in regards to aesthetic, colour, story, context and framing. Then no, it doesn't particularly stand out. Like Cartier Bresson, Joel Meyerowitz, Vivian Maier e.t.c. That's extraordinary photography. Unfortunately this shot is just not a glimpse into the sublime, and thats okay. Sitting around drinking with mates in warm weather I think is a rather ordinary activity, and is a situation that is seemingly rather difficult to extract forms of the extraordinary out of. I've sat hundreds of times in groups of people enjoying themselves in social circles, and many other people have too. It's when you take something that seems so irrelevant to most and make it insanely relevant (see 'Van Gogh's chair') that they HAVE to consider it. That's when it becomes art.

meet up in london??
meet up in london??
londons not far we always discuss this though and it never happens
Meet up in Belgium?
Feeling a little shy about these, given all the awesome posts in this thread, but here goes nothing. Couple of years ago, a friend gave me an old SLR from the 80s, and I figured out how to use it last spring. Here's what I got, these are some of the good ones. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/yRL2pqk.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/X6eg9CQ.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/YZcm4c5.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/TzCalV2.jpg[/img_thumb] Had them all developed at a local Walgreens, and despite saying "do not throw out misprints," they did anyway. I love that washed out sun stained thing that happens with film when it gets all screwy.
First and third are lovely, nice work!
