Welp, I guess it was a major overreaction on my part, I'm just too used to getting extremely harsh critique elsewhere. Wasn't really expecting this tbh. But to answer the question, I thought it just turned out nicely in comparison to most of the other ones I took from the shoot. Disregard the stuff I said earlier, I hang out in the worst spots and this was probably the result of being paranoid af as a result of that. I'm just too used to people giving me lots of shit elsewhere and I just have to put up with it. Don't hang out with people on 4chan kids, it's rather awful. I've really been out of the loop, good lord. I shouldn't be so hard on myself all the damn time, lmao.
I do't like the picture
Welp.
If you want some real pointers, here's my take on it.
Most of the scene is out of focus, lacking in detail, and lifeless. The subject isn't enough to offset that. Her emotion and pose are too neutral to create any visual interest. She's slightly out of focus, which doesn't help. There's nothing really separating the subject from the background, and she gets lost. Everything just sort of blurs together, there's no single point which makes it an interesting photograph.
Softness can be an aesthetic, I just don't think you're nailing it. Needs a little work.

I've been practicing with the softness recently, but this I shall take into account for next time. I would have preferred it to not be out of focus, but bleh. It has more to do with the fact I had some light in the way when taking the pic and I was using manual focus, and unfortunately enough it didn't work out the way as intended, but I was proud of the concept.

Here is another picture that was in focus that turned out alright from the shoot. It's a shame the softness didn't work out entirely in my favor the previous pic though. Granted these are just someone's senior pics though, but I did want to make them the best as can be.

The lens I glued back together no longer focuses to infinity or stops down past 1.4, so you may find the focus disagreeable.

Hi guys, long time no see!
Got my work featured 2 art galleries in England and Poland this year. First time my work has been exhibited and I can't be happier!

The project was shot when I hitchhiked around California and ended up living on a bus with vagabonds for a few month. We did a lot of work with the community, helping the elderly and stuff, and i sampled the great Humboldt horticulture.
Wicked time, now I'm going to hitchhike to the Sahara from the UK starting Monday :)!
