Had a roll of film developed, the first two were the best on that I think. I really like the last one but that might be just because I know the people in it, what do you guys think?

I like the second. The first is technically sound but a bit boring, and the third does very little for me, but as long as you like the photo for yourself, it was certainly worth taking. I'm never sure where to draw the line with people who share personal things. During a critique in my animation class, I genuinely had to explain to a classmate that no one liked their project because everything was deeply personal symbolism and it made no sense to anyone else. They were baffled at the concept of considering the audience to which their work will be presented. (Not that this is a problem with you, obviously, I've just never gotten the chance to complain about that before lol)

I know I don't really deserve to complain about this but something funny (sad?) I noticed about PPIHC sharing my post is that their Facebook page posts everything they do on Instagram, except for their regram my post. I messaged them asking if that was a mistake or something and they said they don't like to put all their Instagram posts on Facebook because it "over saturates the timeline" and reposts "don't do as well." but my regram is literally the only one they've posted in weeks that hasn't also been posted on Facebook.

Obviously I got free publicity to 11,000+ people so I'm not gonna throw a fit, but it would have been nice for them to put my post on Facebook where 100,000+ people could see it. My post did pretty well on their Instagram as well compared to other reposts, so maybe their social media manager just hates me on a personal level.

Nah, its the way some companies operate.

Besides, they don't give 2 shits about you cause you are giving them free publicity.

Its what happens when you work for free (in this case getting experience and for portfolio)

I love me some expensive cameras too but damn if a little homemade pinhole camera can't make a beautiful photo

I took some advice I was given last time and dialed back the eye-searing foliage.

Editing is probably my least favorite part of the process. Anyone have any tips to make that go a little quicker?

Know as much as you can about tools so that you can use the right ones to do what you're trying to do, and make presets. Even if they're basic, they can get you 50% of the way to where you want to be if you set them up right, and then you can tweak them from there.

Also, KISS. I often just edit curves and a few HSL channels.

oh I don't mean photoshopping as in faking, I mean like post-processing, color/contrast/brightness/levels adjustments, that sort of thing. I think with some minor tweaks you could make these very compelling

it isn't quite cheating either. some people pride themselves on not doing any editing but for most photographers, shooting the photo is one half of the work, editing is the second
