A lot of leaves have a strange colour on their undersides. The whites are often milky or silvery. Are you sure this isn't maybe what you're seeing, not just a problem with the photo? Even in real life, the tones can seem unreal.

This isn't a photograph but I really wanted to share this as I've just had a personal experience, some of you may know I suffer from colour-blindness and therefore the colour correcting on my images - especially those with greens, reds, purples, and pinks - are quite off or not so perfect. But I have discovered an absolutely beautiful program called [URL="visiontechnology.co"]Vision[/URL] and upon looking back at my images I'm just only now appreciating how so many different shades of green can look beautiful and vibrant and being able to see the different between the pinks and many shades of light, soft, dark, and strong blues in the last picture.
I can truly appreciate the Greens, Pinks and Purples in these images like I never could and I just wanted to share this.

Both of my brother's are colourblind deuteranopes. I've been toying with the idea of getting them one of those enchroma glasses. I assume the 'vision' program' works in a similar way to the glasses?
1st is great, 2nd is amazing, but I feel the third doesn't hold my interest compared to the others.

Granted, I haven't actually tried, so I don't have much experience with rejections at the door, but as far as I can tell, brining a DSLR in to a show is a no-no. They think you will blind everyone with a flash. Plus some artists don't want amateurs and enthusiasts detracting from seeing them live, etc.

I guess you're very right, I hadn't thought about that aspect. You get so used to leaves you stop paying attention over the years and forget simple details like that.

It was with my point and shoot. It's the size of my palm so it was pretty small so I just held it next to my wallet when they checked me lol. They usually never say anything. There was a guy with a DSLR and they didnt turn him away.
It really depends on the venue and what they allowed. If it says specifically "no professional cameras," then your only choice is to sneak in and not use flash. I've sneaked in my X70 since it so small and it just looks like a crappy point and shoot.

yeah me neither honestly, it's just a bit of context to say "I went flying" I suppose, and that's how I took the first two
shots through windows always look garbage to me in terms of colour no matter what I do, so I end up going to black and white

Is that in reference to the thumbnails or the images blown up on flickr? I think they look fine blown-up but I can work on that in the future if not.
I'm certain it's just the usual effect of Flickr's scaling on the lower res versions - the higher res ones look to me, if anything, a little soft
