Went to the Mexican side of the border yesterday for my personal project. Such a different atmosphere compared to the U.S. side.

Went to NYC recently - my first time actually making an attempt at somewhat ~artsy~ pictures, and first time I've used a DSLR in ages properly. Think I did decently, even if originality isn't exactly shining through. Great learning experience, though.

Not a fan tbh. The castle is nice but the way you shot it kinda makes the castle the point, not the wedding pair. Especially visible in the second one imo
In the 3 years I've been doing weddings, it's always good to get plenty of shots with the couple being secondary to the venue itself, especially if it's a [I]freakin' castle[/I]. You'll setup and get enough intimate portraits and traditional portraits that having something *extra* usually nets a creative print in the eyes of the couple.
#1 and #2 give me anxiety because I feel like if they were printed off and put into frames, the feet are gonna get cut off or be stressing the edge far too much, and #4 has more negative space above the heads than I'd personally want. Other than cropping gripes I had, the lighting, color, and sharpness are great. I especially like your use of off flash in the second image, good stuff.
You did a better job than my very expensive wedding photographer. I'd be happy with those shots.

Well yea, it could had been better, but I wasn't prepared, so were my friends.
I was lucky to even get access to the castle, its generally only opened for visits, and this was the first time in like a 100 years they allowed access, so I was already extremely grateful.
I had 2 hours at the location, both inside and outside (no inside photos due to an agreement I made) and to top it off, my OCF crashed and it stopped working, I had to resort to my speedlite with 15 mins inside. I was working as only 1 guy without any assistants, so it was all a mad rush.
Plus the castle being 1 or 2 centuries old, I had to take utmost care to not damage anything.

I'm wondering what kind of detail I could pull out of the Pixel 2's sensor with a macro lens. I'd love to get back into doing photography to contribute to the wikimedia commons plant project. Small plants are such of joy to photograph, so much intricacy to show that is missed by the unaided eye.
