I've been eyeing a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 at a store. Anyone got one? I'm liking the 4K video, and samples I've seen are nice albeit after 1600 ISO it seems to lose a lot of detail.

Yeah long story short, it looked super sweet on Instagram, but man does that look not transfer well if you try and copy pasta it over to flickr. It gets all grainy and shit as if you put 300% clarity and sharpness.

My dad's a volunteer with the Swedish Sea Rescue Society and he let me come along when they took out their main boat, an old SB90E, from winter storage. I took some pics with my yashica too, but it'll take some time until I'm done with that roll lol

Getting closer would be my biggest critique. I like the wide shots but for the last two, I feel like getting shots of them working nice and close would've made the set flow nicely.

honestly I think the usual "getting closer" advice doesn't apply to everything. I meam it totally depends on what you try to tell visually but also from a perspective level. It completely depenss on what you like to shoot. A lot of the times I tend to move away from my subjects, but then again my photos tend to have more of a removed and distant feeling, which is what I want.
But if we look at your photos as a set there's a lot of repetition and jumping around from color to b&w

So I'm going to the UK soon and I'm gonna be spending a lot of time in rural areas. I want to get some good shots of squirrels and stuff. I'm pretty sure I can get a 70-300 non-VR lens for $50. Would it be worth it, or should I spend a bit more and get a 55-200 VR?
If you're shooting wildlife you'll probably have pretty short exposure times anyway, I don't have experience with VR, but shooting IS Canons vs non-IS I generally don't notice much of a difference unless I'm shooting at slow speeds, and I have some pretty shaky hands.
