It was quite hard to edit them all similarly, not really sure why (mostly exposure differences outside of WB settings I think). I see what you are saying though, I hunk the first nails the look the best the more I look at the others the less I like them.

First of a few that I took tonight.
I apologize for the dump and also for the piss poor scanning quality. I hope I've managed to convey enough of overcast Britain, that you can overlook the apparent problems with this set (shit laptop monitor, low quality scan, Flickr's sharpening thrown on top to make it even worse). I will have to re-scan them again some day soon.
Anyway, this is what I have to share with you for now.

Extension tubes work quite well.
I went outside with a friend after work and just went nuts with snapping and only 2 out of ~180 pictures turned out decent enough to retouch.
Feels good man.
Haven't quite got the feel for all the twiddlys and knobs on the D7200 but I'll get there. The little LCD at the top is a blessing though.

Can someone tell me why on earth Photoshop has decided to cut out all of my EXIF info whenever I save to PNG
PNG does not embed EXIF info. It allows, however, to embed metadata "chunks" inside the image. Some of the standardized chunks correspond to some EXIF attributes (physical dimensions, timestamp), and it's also possible to store arbitrary textual data as key=value pairs or to define new chunk types. So, you could in principle store any EXIF information... but in your own custom format. Some attempts to standarize have not caught up, it seems.
I recommend exporting as JPEG with the colorspace set to sRGB for consistent results in displaying images online.

That's so weird, I could've sworn I always exported as PNG... Older photos of mine had the EXIF info all there. I must've gotten the formats mixed up somehow and forgotten. Brain, what the fuck? :v:
