couple shots on phone camera again,
tryna get back into it, gives me an excuse to go out more,
still gonna be a while before I can invest in a proper camera and gear but hopefully not too much longer

bit over edited I think, at least it looked good on the phone screen, not quite as much on my pc screen,

gonna have to start working in lightroom again so I don't get this over sharpened mess happening, I blame my laziness and using instagram as my editing app for that

Not exactly photography but I guess this goes here also

So a band I have shot for about 4-5 times now asked me if I could shoot them a music video, so I decided why not since I need to get some video work under my portfolio for uni as well as get used to video on my new 6d

so here it is, my very first music video (aside from them generic year 11 music videos I made in GCSE Media)

All shot, directed and edited by myself, main criticism which was my fault in part was not having a steadicam, I had a really old one that college gave me to practice on but it just couldn't maintain the weight of a DSLR so I ended up using my tripod as a way of reducing a little shake, then overdone some post-stabilization which imo looks a bit off

Sorry if I'm in the wrong place for this, but I'm hoping ya'll might be able to help me in selecting the appropriate camera for my business. I need a video camera for conducting "Talking Head" style interviews with people, such as local business owners, community leaders, government officials, etc. This is for professional use as part of a marketing strategy involving local content creation. It is to be hosted online, primarily through social media, so while it does need to have solid image and audio quality, it doesn't necessarily have to be top of the line broadcast media quality.

The interviews will likely be 2-5 minutes long, though I need to have the ability to record a large amount of footage, and to easily upload it to my computer for editing, so it either must have very large internal storage, or removable/swappable storage modules such as SD cards.

I've had some very limited experience with video editing, but it's probably best to consider me a stark novice at this. Luckily, I have several months to practice using the equipment and editing software. As far as I can tell, I'll need the following equipment:

* A Camera/Camcorder
* A Tripod
* At least two lapel microphones
* A Portable Directional Light Source

My budget for this equipment is in the ballpark of $800 for the time being. Can ya'll offer any suggestions or advice regarding this?

photography discussion might be a better thread as well

but hey

camera, a used 5d ii would probs do you ok with a zoom lens like the 28-135
a manfrotto 701 head with some half decent legs would support it
a tascam dr60d would record the sound, i use some "movo" brand lavaliers that were cheap but aim higher than that
for the portable lights, best bet is LED panels and they don't come cheap - even the v lock batteries to power them are £100 or so. you might be able to pick up a cheap used arri 300/650 kit though

I feel like I could have done slightly better with the angle on the pot shot, it wasn't perfectly top-down so I couldn't quite get it to align with the others like I wanted it to. Still, I think it turned out nice and I didn't even need to scream at Photoshop to make the alignment happen.
