Went out with my parents and boiled some hot dogs.

The air force are often flying around where I live, afaik it's one of the few places in Sweden where they can break the sound barrier. It's pretty fun watching the trails snaking about in the sky.

We got our positive prints back from photography today. Shooting with a pinhole camera is pretty different. Fun stuff. I'm surprised that I managed to get proper exposure in two attempts.

Shot a swim/dive meet today at school for the paper. Tried to get creative using my 35mm prime.
Also, is it considered bad if I cloned out trees and other clutter at the bottom of the photo to make the image cleaner. I know photojournalists would be fired over doing such a thing ( I think some NY times photog recently left because of doing something similar).

A lot of photographers (and probably some people here) think it's a sin but it's up to you and your vision really. If you do choose to edit though, it's best to keep it as simple as possible

If you're a proper photojournalist, your options are cropping, leveling, and some slight touch ups with the dodge/burn tool. Professor Heller's drilled that into my head for two semesters now.

If you're doing art photography, do whatever you want. Just make sure to keep them separate.

Speaking of Heller, he's kind of moderately famous for the Eyes on LaFolette project, which has been shown in a few issues of the international New York Times. My class is working on that this semester, and I'm really excited. It's one of the last bastions of small-town Americana photography in the country, and I love that kind of thing.

strictly speaking you shouldn't but if it's a feature more than news reporting, i don't see the problem. i really like the photo and it would look great at the top of an article.

My mom bought a 6D + 24-70mm f/2.8 L II (I have the first one)
Now she's planning on buying a 70-200 f/2.8 L (I have the cheapest f/4 one)

She has a better base kit than me, what the fuck

Thanks :). I applied vsco preset to it, added contrast, lows boost, a bit of an s curve in the tone curves, added clarity, and added the Kodak tone included in vsco presets.

I pretty much just messed with it till i thought it looked good hah
