I'm pleased with these two. I like the sharpness and colours on the cat one because it somehow works with the background to make it look like a poster of some kind. I like the blurry one because, well, I love bokeh and colours :v:

I gotta say I really love this cat one. I love the light you have, where you can see around half the contours of the black cat while half of them are too dark to be visible and instead all you see is noise. The colors in the background are interesting but they don't distract from the subject. There are some green in the orange part of the background and some orange in the green part of the background that just makes this look really staged but it balances the background amazingly. The white above the cats head makes the orange and green in the background transition smoother as well. Then the cat itself has a very intense gaze like it just noticed something. When I see this cat it's not like I just see a cat that has been looking at something statically but something caught it's attention and it has just turned it's head to try to spot what it was, then the picture was taken. This is probably my favourite cat picture I've ever seen, great work!

Thanks a lot, it means a lot that someone could say anything I've taken is "the best X".
Also, basically everything you described was a total fluke besides the composition, hah.
I'll do it bit-by-bit.
- The lighting around her is just coincidentally perfect rim lighting. The brightness from the background makes her nose and stuff just bright enough, whereas the stuff where it's total black is simply in perfect shadow, and the noise is probably either just the flaw in the camera's sensor/lenses or my ISO setting (still quite inexperienced lol)
- The green and orange mixture is totally unintentional but perfect. The green is simply a big bush outside the window (if you hadn't already noticed the cat's in front of a window and not a picture/coloured wall), the orange is the sunset-ish lighting from the afternoon hitting the buildings in the street. I have no idea where the orange bokeh on the green side came from, but the green in the orange section is grass under the sunlight (the bottom right)
- I'm not even sure what the white above her head is but I liked how it's aligned perfectly, making the green/orange transition perfectly in the middle of her.
- The stare of the cat is the one thing that was actually planned. Because of her being a black cat she's quite hard to photograph if she isn't in direct light, because at normal shutter speeds she just comes out as a black blob. Basically to take photos of her I expose the shutter for longer than if it's a photo of my tabby cat, and to get her to stay still for a clear long-exposed shot we simply distract her while I take the photo. That's what makes the intense stare versus passive gazing.
I know that's basically a wall of text over nothing but I thought I'd go into detail since I appreciated you liking it so much :v:
