big picture of small bug, or small picture of big bug?
I tried to be more meaningful and capture more emotion. I also tried to imitate the style of TomboPukka in the nature ones. And I couldn't resist, even if it is cliche, to take that last one.

Also! Leave some CC please! Something I noticed: The sunlight is wayyyy to crazy in the one of the girl screaming, but decreasing it anymore resulted in loss of quality. And I think the one of the rock pile might be a little too dark, or too saturated. I can't really tell, I thought it was a bad vignette but I'm pretty sure I removed it.
nothing too special but a couple of stills from a 1:30 short I had to make for uni

The stitch in the first one is done quite poorly, your shot on the right is both out of focus and motion blurred. When doing a panorama, it's important to try and match settings across shots. It's also very soft in general, you should probably stop down your lens a bit to try and eek out some more sharpness. You're too far away to really get a decently thin DOF at that aperture anyhow, so it's not really worth the loss in quality. Additionally, if you're trying to match Tom's work, pay attention to the time at which he makes his photos. He's working with fairly late in the day light (or maybe early morning). In your shots you're pretty much middle of the day.
In your rock pile shot, you are right, it's too dark. The sky looks very unnatural (too dark), and in terms of crit on the photo itself, it's not particularly interesting in the first place. It can sometimes help to describe the photo aloud to yourself during editing. "it's a straight on photo of a pile of stones" might not sound very interesting. You've titled it "rock mountain" yet in the composition you chose, it's clearly not very tall. If you got close and took a lower angle, you could give it the impression of a larger scale.
In the photos you have of people, the first one is called "Joy". The subject looks to be in agony, if I'm honest. I can't say it counts to say you're trying to capture more emotion in your photos by simply giving them titles that are emotions. A tip I was given early on is to avoid titling your photos anything. Let them speak for themselves, instead of trying to drive a viewers feelings with a pre-set title.
In general, I'd say you're working a lot harder on the outside of your imagry than the actual capture. You have an essay of a description on "The Yell" but none of that prevents it from being a boring and obviously staged photograph. Make interesting pictures at the time of capture, and you won't need to try to revive them in post.

Thanks for all this, in terms of the titles, I usually don't put much effort into them. If you around my Flickr you'd see that pretty quickly. But I'll take your advice and start letting them speak for themselves. As for the soft and bad stitching, [sp]I was a little high and[/sp] didn't really put much effort into taking it. When I was shooting we were mid hike and I didn't really think it would come out that great [sp]partly due to what I said above[/sp]. Anyways, I actually completely agree with what you said about the pictures of people, specifically the Yell one [sp]may have been on a substance then too, I should really sober up before editing + uploading + posting[/sp]. I actually woke up this morning, checked this thread and was surprised with how bad they looked. Especially that "Rock Mountain" one. I do not know why I thought that was so good [sp]well, I might have a slight idea[/sp]. I need to stop doing drugs and taking pictures. Thanks for the advice though, I'm always trying to get better and everyone here is really helping.

really unsure about the left or the whole thing, but eh
Yeah, wow, killer.
cheers, was a lucky shot more than anything. Happened to look up at the right moment, and somehow managed to manual focus the shot before the moment passed which is not easy at 135 1.8! couldn't have turned out better given the circumstances I'd say. The only other frame a grabbed 5 seconds later had nothing in focus and a building in the way

I'd say that most photographs would fall into this category.
