intro sounds pretty cool, I like the buildup, and the gradual automation applied to that arpeggiated synth, as well as the building sounds around it. The chorus (or drop or whatever anybody wants to call it) is actually pretty awesome. it's always interesting to hear the different ways people EQ their kicks/basses when it comes to this kind of music. your has such a cool grit/noise filter(s) to it, fits the track very well. could be longer than 2 minutes, though! maybe go into a slower paced bridge for a short time, then build back up to a 2nd drop, that sounds even more complex than the first. y'know, classic EDM song structure. at any rate, i managed to do a music somehow
Lovely! I really like the sounds of this, also there are enough transitions to keep it interesting. Although maybe some thread that walks you through the song could help. But idk, I'm not really very well-read in this kind of music. anyway, good luck!
I love that lead in the beginning. The keys might be a little too loud though. Cool rhythms when the bass comes in. Holy shit that's awesome when the drums kick in. The second lead could use some more modulation though, make the timbre more interesting. Can you upload it to soundcloud or clyp.it so I can listen in higher quality? Here's something I ran out of inspiration for:
Nice! it's something to listen to while scrolling through a webpage or something. Not really a conscious-listening song. Or maybe I'll turn it on when I'm riding my bike at night. thanks for sharing! I don't really have any advice, it is what it is I think. The whislting was great and grabbed my attention again. So if you want more conscious attention from listeners, do things like that more often, I guess! ---------------------------------------------------- Here's something I made in a few days, I'm really really curious what you guys think of it! I made it in my room and it's the most produced song I've made I think. (also the most self depreciating :s: ... Getting Modest Mouse vibes. The snare drum sounds like it's got some unintentional comb artifacts. The 100% reverb at around 1:25 has some delay, it throws me off a bit. Maybe you should mix up the beat, it gets a bit repetitive. Go half-time? I really don't know about the resampling and pitching of your voice, it gets annoying and is hard to pull off in anything that isn't humorous. Also was that a ring filter during the muffled part? Very cool. So yeah, I think you should add a breakdown in the middle somwhere where you strip away everything and go half-time. And also don't pitch your voice.
Does anyone have omnisphere? Is it worth getting compared to just getting really good with making sounds on Massive? I've been trying to get out of simply always starting with presets or a sample. Is there a more robust synth than Massive?

The only reason to get another synth is your workflow and perhaps overcoming certain technical limits.
(using my feedback credit from my last post because nobody's posted since then) Made this in about 3 hours with a 2 minute time limit. I'm still not happy with the percussion complexity, but it's pretty catchy so far.

The mixing sounds really good for 2 hours of work, I don't hear anything competing. When I first listened it seemed quite chaotic but once I was able to discern the synth line it became catchy. Actually getting some oldschool house vibes from those synths. Also really like the acoustic drums throughout, especially when they're pitched down in the intro. __________________________ Working on a techno thing

Good synth modulation. Try adding some breaks and pads. Or get a really long percussive hit and drench it in reverb. Something a bit like "horror 2" from this, but with more of a transient hit.

Cool groove. I tend to go for more melodic music, so I can't really give you any criticism that I haven't already given. I was getting some Half-Life vibes near the end. I think you should make the arp more present throughout the track, and get some sort of lead. Maybe try an acid bassline? I think I'm finished with this, although I haven't spent that much time on it.

However I find it slightly irritating when the drums are reversed, I personally find it to be a weird thing but it doesn't ruin the song at all. For five minutes it is pretty long though, I feel it would be better if it were under three minutes so it's not too short and won't get repetitive as it forces you to try and fill in those gaps to reach the five minute mark. But if you do want to keep the length, you could start with one or two instruments at the beginning and add them in after a while one by one. That would be one way to make it longer. Oh yeah, cute album cover. Good style.
Cheers for the feedback. I started kind of arranging, the first 32 bars are really rough at the moment.
What sampling rates are the best to use and work with? I would use 192khz all the time if I actually felt the difference and it didn't break FL plugins.
48khz is best to use for video (even number for even framerates). 44.1khz if you're going to put it on a CD. 192khz if you're making oscilloscope music. There's no audible difference. Higher sample rates will reduce latency if you're playing live, though.

You got my follow. This is a rough minimal techno-ish sketch that I want to make into a full song. At the moment I'm not fully sure what to add or how to structure it but I think it sounds kinda cool and brings this dystopian theme I've been going for recently. Whenever I'm done working on my songs to sneak to EP I'll try to tackle something new using garageband. Looking for advice here. It's going to be something about making horribly connotated tunes into profane leitmotifs for children. Probably an album, I'd like to shoot for something like 15 minutes run time, so about ten songs. This one is the horsst wessel lied. Other than the bad sample quality I think I've messed up the mixing. Should I keep the Untergang sample or do you find that it cheapens the whole ordeal?

After he found out that it's a trap the second part of the song plays and then the his getaway starts with him getting away in a crowded mall and then driving home in a taxi. But yeah, there are two voices. At some parts I overdubbed the low parts with a shitty falsetto :v: and buried it in the mix. The result was better than I expected, added some texture to the lines. And I must say - pretty impressed with your synth sound. I thought you used a heavily processed Sakura synth or something. Pretty cool that you approached it from the bottom up. Also - reading the plot and listening your track gives it a whole new dimension. You've accurately depicted the mood, you can really feel the suspense in the scene. Now I want to see it!

The vocal style reminds me of Pink Floyd a bit, but it goes too low imo [sp]chocolate raiiinnn[/sp]. You're lacking reverb on a lot of the synth elements. The guitars set the mood nicely. The chorus' progression is kind of an unexpected mood change but it's not bad. The lead synth at 2:01 is too loud compared to everything else. Work on your percussion. Make it louder, give it more punch. Here's another chill beat, clocking in at 59 bpm (even lower if you count in 6/8).

The reoccurring guitar theme grounds the track nicely, even makes me hum along a bit, makes for an enjoyable listen in the background. The clappy snare works pretty well with this, but the strong kick sometimes seems a bit too distracting for it being a chill beat. Could be that super punchy kicks are just not my taste, but maybe try to make the kick a bit less pronounced. Anyhow, still an enjoyable listen. Thought I'd post another one. This one's a bit more spacey, no vocals, I could call it a derivation of space and synth rock, maybe.
Hey guys, I have a question about DAW's in general, I have an external sound card, a focusrite scarlett 2i2, and I would like to stream my FL Studio audio over OBS and my desktop audio aswell, but when I select the focusrite USB ASIO, only I can hear the audio and my stream can not, because it's not being routed to desktop audio, is there any way to route the audio that FL Studio makes to desktop audio or a new sound driver or something?

Hey guys, I've been working on a track that uses a single hardware synth to do all the parts for a while now, knowing that at some point I'll have to confront mixing it. I'm happy with the content of the song and like the way it sounds, minus the fact that it's a bit deep and busy because it hasn't been cleaned up at all, but I need to know where to start with this shit. I've experimented a bit but I'm afraid that I'll waste a lot of time just shoving the E.Q. and compression around and not really fix anything. I have a good ear but I haven't yet learned what to try out to fix each problem.
