The drums are mixed very well, the perc line you have gets a little annoying after a while, maybe add some subtle delays. Other than that, fantastic stuff. I just released an EP! Tell me what you think guys
I'm getting some insane Carbonbased lifeforms-vibes from that first track, which I would say is... Pretty damn impressive, since they're really unique in their sound. Which you managed to emulate. Well done! I like how different track two is, not as strong but it is a pretty decent track overall.
Okay I chopped it up Luv but sadly couldn't get it to sound the way I wanted after some fiddling. I may come back to it but it'll probably sit in my meh folder for awhile. In the meantime I've got a nice lo-fi track in the worx, possibly FP album worthy.

Also if you wanna send it to me I could even do some vox work on the newer track.
Yo, I'm playing a song on the Ukulele that goes D, F#M, F#Dim but it drops even further down for a fourth note, I don't know what it is - I've obviously ran out of frets on the C string to drop it any further. Anyone able to lend a hand here? I might be way off on my starting chord lol.

I've got the main parts sorted out so I'm close to having it ready. I was sifting through some Alan Watts youtube vids to possibly put on top, but I'll give you the first go at vocal stuffs B) Should be ready in a couple days tops, will post then. [editline]16th November 2017[/editline]
Anyone able to lend a hand here? I might be way off on my starting chord lol.
Sounds like an E?? I'm not sure I'm thinking of the right note. Jk I hear a D at the lowest.. I think
I got hit with a wave of inspiration earlier, so I wrote some shitty slam poem/rap sorta thing. Not generally my style of writing, but I gave it a shot. [t]https://image.prntscr.com/image/zxd1SQqMQum_0FQH9Nmegg.jpeg[/t] Didn't know if this was the right thread for it. I apologize, if it isn't. Just felt like sharing for once.
I've revisited an old chord progression, but with a completely new sound to it (I'm addicted to dreamy guitars, layered to hell and back, doomy distorted guitars in the background and a melodic guitar on top of it that's nothing like the rest. Oh, and my Very Own drumkit (Thank you hands, feet and my bedroom wall. Oh, and my cup, thank you.)
Dreamy is certainly right, your guitar sounds so nice throughout all of this, and man when those arpeggios start up :ok:. I think the percussion sounds nice and works pretty well for most of the song but it seems get overshadowed by the guitar as the song gets more intense, almost like the guitar is super into it and emotional but the percussion isn't quite feeling the same way if that makes sense. Overall I really like it though, everything just sounds so nice. Also since I've finally worked up the courage to post here, here's a thing I made a couple weeks ago trying to get that kind of Synthwave sound because I love meme genres. I've been really stagnating recently in terms of improvement so I'm trying to get more out there to get feedback and hopefully get better.
any updates on the collab? just sent my track in, wondering if anyone else has been doing the same
any updates on the collab? just sent my track in, wondering if anyone else has been doing the same
I've got a reasonably recent track that I'm planning on submitting.
I've got a reasonably recent track that I'm planning on submitting.
send it in to skeeter, the more the merrier
I really dig the layered guitars, and how the parts fit together. Nothing sounds out of place, not even the homemade drums!!! (I'm jelly, congrats). The trills around 1:08 - 1:20 are spicy, and it's a nice lil showcase of your technical ability. The transition starting at 1:50 is smooth, and doesn't sound forced at all which is great. Then it goes into some pretty arps which are exactly on tempo and good in every other aspect. Then into some serious (but brief) jamming in the upper register at 3:21 WHICH IS SICK. DO MORE OF THAT NEAR THE END. I understand coming back down for the closer, but I feel like it had just finished climaxing and then put it's pants back on and went home. Don't do that to us. I can tell you can shred that geet much harder bro, so my only real suggestions would be: Write more complex melodies for yourself near the end, and possibly take it an octave higher when you're doing so to really get that "wow this guy is good" factor. Other than that, I feel like some simple but moving vocals would play nicely into the mix in certain areas. I love how the guitars speak as it is, though. If I were being nitpicky I would have made the kick/drums a little louder, or just turned down everything else. Overall: Good shit B) +Followed
I'm at a loss at words, thank you so much for your kind words! I agree with that it's kind of a letdown with how it all ends, and I'm trying to find a way to peak the climax even harder :) I'll also look into adding vocals, I've got a friend who maybe might be able to do something.
Dreamy is certainly right, your guitar sounds so nice throughout all of this, and man when those arpeggios start up :ok:. I've been really stagnating recently in terms of improvement so I'm trying to get more out there to get feedback and hopefully get better.
For sure! I think the percussion is probably the weakest part of all my current songs and I'm going to experiment with playing actual drums to them to try and push them just one step higher, so that they can achieve their true potential. I can't describe just how flattered I am by both of your words, it's impossible for me to find the words to properly tell you how much it means to hear someone say such nice things about your track :') As for your track ; I really really enjoy the sound of it! And that deep fucking kick works really well, it's not really audible but I think that works so well with the bass you've got going. Only thing I could think of is maybe let it get that thick thud going for it starting at 1:13 where things change up. That way it'll transition really well with the completely changed feel of your track. Something else I'm thinking could work really well is having the snare be gated so that it'll trigger some white noise. That'll give it a more natural sound I think and could be really cool. Mixingwise, all I can think of is that it all seems a bit centered around 800hz to 8khz, and it all blends together a little bit too much for a track that's 3½ minutes long. Adding something for the upper register could probably make a really solid track into the next level, because I've listened to this track 4 times now already and I just want to hear it again, and again. [editline]20th November 2017[/editline] We've got enough tracks now so we'll get this show rolling at the end of the month! I'll make a new bandcamp account since I can't figure out the password and all that jazz. We also need a cover!
just a reminder that just because we have enough tracks doesnt mean we dont want more so if you’ve got something you want others to hear, send it in
I'll try to make something as well. I have a fair amount of graphic design experience so I'd be down to make the cover too, but I'd like to see what the other collab album covers look like too. Also here's a track I'm kinda working on right now. Unreleased, since I still want to work on it some more: https://soundcloud.com/tvoctopod/coastlines/s-Ti3kg
Google has completely failed me, anyone who uses ableton live know how to get input from an asio device (a focusrite 2i2) and route it out as a windows recording device?
Google has completely failed me, anyone who uses ableton live know how to get input from an asio device (a focusrite 2i2) and route it out as a windows recording device?
Might need to install ASIO4ALL to get it to work. I have a Focusrite 2i4 and I used asio4all to get it working with Reaper.
here's an idea i had for the collab cover with a couple variations [t]https://puu.sh/yqMa2/a06c77326b.png[/t] [t]https://puu.sh/yqMbT/82d85ee0df.png[/t] [t]https://puu.sh/yqMaf/cd5a996aac.png[/t]

I'm not super familiar with Ableton but I'd think choosing MME/DirectX in audio setup would do that. As soon as you go through windows it's not ASIO anymore though. Just curious why you need to?
just a reminder that just because we have enough tracks doesnt mean we dont want more so if you’ve got something you want others to hear, send it in
I would send a song in, but I've posted it here already and I'm currently remastering my old music because I'm lacking creativity.
here's an idea i had for the collab cover with a couple variations
I like the middle one the best because of how the colors blend a little more smoothly. The color palette is friendly. Make a version with the blue stripe transparent / pushed to back layer as well though?
just a reminder that just because we have enough tracks doesnt mean we dont want more so if you’ve got something you want others to hear, send it in
Exactly :) The more tracks we get, the more feedback everyone can get AND your music, yes, YOUR music, will get spread to more people! Anyone good with room EQ? I've got 8 inch speakers in a small room and until I have the means to downsize and monitor the curve, I'm not sure how to nullify the standing waves :(
here's what that looks like [t]https://puu.sh/yqMbT/82d85ee0df.png[/t] [t]https://puu.sh/yrhgg/b4eb1e1c43.png[/t]
I was thinking this would look really cool if you could somehow make it look like it was sprayed on a wall or something. [thumb]https://i.imgur.com/mKwEpzT.jpg[/thumb] Disclaimer this is just a quick shitty overlay to show sort of what I mean. I was thinking of something like the muted lighting and colors you'd seen on a wall poster in TF2 if that makes any sense.
i personally prefer to just keep it minimal
it would look cool actually spraypainted on a wall. it doesn't look cool spraypainted on a wall in an album cover
We doing another collab album? Think I missed the last one
We doing another collab album? Think I missed the last one
the last one was 2 years ago but yeah we're doing another collab skeeter said it's open until the end of november so you can send in a track you've already made to him or make a new one in a week
