Happy sampling!
Nice, I dig the hats. The vocals could use some work, though.
Nice, I dig the hats. The vocals could use some work, though.
We chose to keep them as close to the original recording as possible, so people can do their own work on them. I always found it hard to find un-edited vocal samples. Some could have been a bit crisper, though. I'll definately keep it in mind the next time we make a pack like this; and yeah, I wanted to say, feedback is of course greatly appreciated
Amazing! Trying to come up with a not too cringey, more serious artist name I can release an EP under when the time comes, please vote: Agree - Prizm Artistic - Pryzm Funny - Prizym Tool - Palendrome
I think Prizm is best because if you're telling people in person they're more likely to actually remember it and get the spelling correct. Even with "Sonis" I have to spell it out for people haha
There's this though: If you ask people to look you up on Soundcloud they'll possibly have to sift through 99 other Prizms :v:
Oh yeah don't use that one then. Definitely find something that's not in use yet if you can.
It's ok, I'll be the best! ...Just kidding. I'm quite liking Prizym, it suitably neurofunk-y and doesn't seem to be taken, although you're right about the spelling issue. Then again, I don't promote my music that much face to face and if anyone really cares that much I can always write it out for them.
Then again, I don't promote my music that much face to face.
yet ;)
There's this though: [t]http://i.imgur.com/RU9XDKw.png[/t] If you ask people to look you up on Soundcloud they'll possibly have to sift through 99 other Prizms :v:
thats why i like my alias. its easy to remember and slightly obscure. yeah sure there are like 100+ DJ Telo's, but i don't go by DJ Telo, i go by just Telo. i also am the second most popular Telo according to the search. (used incognito mode, ofc)
Well I took the leap and it's gone well so far, top result when you search for me. Now I just need to invent a handy rhyme so people can remember the spelling.
yet ;)
I'm going to look back on this and be filled with regret, I just know it :v:
Primal Rabbits In Zipcode Yellowcake Massacre. Z and Y are hard.
Moody, a bit barebones (or just minimalistic?). Sidechain fits good here. I like the bitcrush on the main synth. [editline]31st March 2015[/editline] This is dope, I like the change in drums and mood. Also really neat synths [editline]31st March 2015[/editline] I'll get to other stuff on last page later, tired atm so I'm dropping these here: Videogamey, I tried making a track that would fit in the background of a visual novel or something: Not really sure what to make of this one but I really like the mood.. just not sure what else there is to this: For extra a short clip I made from a donkey kong country corrupted soundtrack:
Take a walk is really cool, I love that snare. The whole thing (drums especially) feels a bit dry though, some reverb would help out I think. The corrupted donkey kong thing is great too, but same comment again - more reverb! Been working on what might be my first proper Prizym track (dun dun duuuun) more. Started work on a drop, not sure if I quite like that part yet though. I'm having so much fun with the intro though, although mixing it is a pain.
The past few months I've taken to playing piano and learning jazz. Is anyone into jazz and have some recommendations for other pianists/trios to listen to? I've loved monk, bud powell, evans, chick corea and wynton kelly.

So refreshing (4:30-5:00 is one of the mostly godly rhythmic things I've ever heard)

Sound design once it drops is on point too but it feels a bit disconnected to me. Seems like it needs a more consistent piece of percussion or something to hold the groove a bit more because I'm having trouble getting a really solid head nod going to it (that's my scientific measurement tool haha). Definitely like the direction it's going though. Here's two WIPs from me (private tracks, so no embed) This one's a bit of a deeper tune: https://soundcloud.com/sonis/wisps-of-you-01/s-fq97r And this is a dancefloor oriented one. It's only a drum rack and a bass synth so far but I'm really looking forward to playing this one out when it's done already: https://soundcloud.com/sonis/stomp-01b/s-ujvUA

Pryzym [editline]2nd April 2015[/editline] Wait nvm you already chose.

The whole track is good to be honest, I think it could benefit from having some more atmosphere or background noise though, even if you just threw the dusty vinyl sound on it. Second track's not so much the type of music I listen to, but it's kind of cool. The bass sounds good, especially under the low pass filter or whatever, before it starts to build up.

I definitely might add some vinyl noise or some field recordings to the background now though too :) The instrument t 0:44 is an electric piano that I processed a bit (I've synthesized really similar sounds before too though)

I love the pads and atmosphere stuff, although I'm not a fan of the kick at the start. It doesn't sound like the best sample, I'd say it's a maybe bit too dry as well. I like the snare but I think the hi hats are a bit drowned out and could do with a being a bit crisper. The percussion that comes in later is coolio. Started a new track to take a break from the cinematic neuro one:
After a long hiatus, I finally found the inspiration to make something, and something that I'd like to share. It has an 80's yet modern feel to it, I think the genre is Synthwave. The voice in the beginning reminds me of Amnesia: The Dark Descent a little for some reason. The pads in the background in around 1:10 really add a nice touch, I love it.
Started a new track to take a break from the cinematic neuro one:
The base track is pretty chill, but the "wubwub" which kicks in at 1:30 is somehow distracting and unfitting in my opinion. It doesn't really add to the rest, since it doesn't really feel connected to the base track harmonywise. I'd personally leave it out and play something else over it instead. Obviously got reminded of Hotline Miami here :v:. ---------- Dropping some of my recent WIP here. Contains three hours of work so far, will probably keep expanding it in the future. If I'm still trying to become familiar with DAWs and I've been working on FL Studio for about a year more or less now, should I just stick with it, or move on?
It doesn't matter. Just use whatever matches your workflow. If you don't need to change, you can try things out, but there's no need for it.
no you have to switch to pro tools its the only viable daws believe me michael angelo used it [editline]5th April 2015[/editline] First you have to forget all that is fun and then take 3 certification classes and sell your soul [editline]5th April 2015[/editline] (I am joking)
