Holy shit it looks huge.
The Polyphemus moth is pretty cool, too.
Caught one of those a few weeks back. That's what originally got me thinking about the "Catch a giant moth and get some eggs" idea But that one was a male, so I just let it go. Few days later though and I find a Luna Moth. Wow, that's truly beautiful.
Friggen awesome!
Shortly before pupation, the final, fifth instar caterpillar will engage in a "gut dump" where any excess water and fluids are expelled.
Jesus christ, do not want to be around when 400, 9 cm long caterpillars do that.
I was actually thinking of just tying them all to a coat and having them fly me around town.
I'm painting this, it would make a beautiful scene.
Become Mothman. [editline]goobers![/editline]
Fuck that, be Mothra.
Should've bred an army of mutant bees. Then you could have a mutant bee army to do your evil bidding. That would be awesome.
holy shit postal, good luck. [editline]03:22PM[/editline] remind me again, where do you live? because it seems like a pretty cool place
Those look too fucking awesome. Hope it all goes well.
You get the coolest shit in your yard...

BECOME MOTHMAN!:buddy:
That is actually awesome. I would be scared as hell of them but their beautiful. I want one as a pet.
I get those moths sometimes at my window at night. They scare the shit out of me sometimes because they sound like a bird hitting the window. They are beautiful though.
Good luck Postal
D'aww, look at the little caterpillars
Right, get them fully grown, and keep them in cages next to your front door. Get a moth costume, and wait for someone to show up at the door(solicitors, Jehovah's witnesses, girls scouts, etc.), then put on the costume, release all the moths, and throw open the front door to unleash your moth army on them. Make sure to record it and put it on Facepunch.
That's awesome! Reminds me of the Insect House in our Zoo. It's pretty new and now as winte approaches there are pupas all around the tanks.
So much for linking me the video!!
Postal, can you disprove/prove a myth for me? Are Moths really poisonous and release some spores or some shit that either infects or irritates the skin? A moth flies inside my room now and then, and I don't mind it because it looks badass hanging in my ceiling. But an answer would be nice.
Moths are awesome. A few nights ago, a huge one (About the size of an adult's thumb) flew into my room. I got a few photos of it, and later that night it disappeared. The next day, after getting home from school I saw it dead on the floor. It didn't look like it was stepped on or injured, it just laid there dead. I felt bad that day...
it's a fucking moth, who cares
I never knew the antennae of moths looked like that. That's really cool. Good luck with your babies C:
I love moths. I once had one lay eggs on my hand, it was really cool because when it pops an egg out it has this really fast drying glue that bonds instantly with anything.
the number 412 is really annoying my powers-of-2 ocd-ish-ness. but good luck, sounds like an interesting thing to do. we have lunas around where I live, I just never bothered with anything like this.
I love these threads, they're actually very interesting.
So you're like the anti-Monarch? the moth...arch
You should set them free inside a building when they're fully grown!
Train them to drop penis bombs.
I for one would like to welcome our new overlord Postal when his moth armada reaches maturity.
