I had one when I was little in a jar, I let it go once it was a butterfly. Was just a normal butterfly though, quite small.
Never seen that kind of moth in Miami. The biggest one I have seen was only a small brown one about 3 inches wide, it flew into my house and kept slamming into the living room light. When I turned it off it started to slam into the TV. Annoying little bugger.
These look awesome. Good luck with it. They would also look great if they were the size of a motorcycle. :v:
So postal's trying to become a supervillian but first he needs to learn how they form the cocoons so he can leave the facepunch mod team and transform into THE LUNA MOTH! (Just imagine that the suit is green and the face is a bit more barney-like)
I just realised postal made this thread. Hi postal.
I think this is my favorite of all your threads, Postal.
A++ thread
There's a spot ~10 minutes from my house, where sweet gum trees grow. Only place near by I can find them. I'm taking daily hikes there to get the food for them. I could have used the hickory trees nearby, but, fuck, those branches are 50 feet up in the air. Sweet gum trees are awesome btw. The leaves smell fantastic.
You should get a bicycle
I fucking freak out when I'm in the same room with moths. The idea that they're dusty and could fly into my mouth is scary to me. I'm well aware it's an irrational phobia, and I'm interested in them from a biological perspective, but if one of them was in the same room with me and a bat, I'd break the walls down to get it.
Fuck that, be Mothra.
I was wondering how long it'd be before someone referenced mothra. Next batch is hatching now btw
how many batches are there? :geno:
I'm pretty sure it's five batches, which would make this the final one. These are the ones from the last bag, which only contained about 50. But I'm not entirely sure if those eggs were laid in one day or two, so, there could be more hatching tomorrow.
How many didnt hatch postal?
How many didnt hatch postal?
Barely any at all. About 4 or 5 for some odd reason just deflated instead of hatching.
Glad to see your back Postal, when they get a bit bigger they will be quite a handful.
Postal, I envy you. I wish I had the time, patience, and balls to raise 412 moths. Good luck, post lotsa pictures and videos.
In a few days Postal will have hundreds of moths flying around in his house, gonna be awesome
Oh man I hate having insectiphobia. Have fun though.
Fucking bump, i wana see how those guys are doing :downs:
All the eggs are hatched btw. Surprised that only about 5 didn't hatch. Only a few days until the first batch sheds their skin.
oh god this is awesome.

Wow, I need to get me some, Take more pictures!
What camera are you using? Those are some really nice pictures.
Let them breed again. 120,000 moths is a lot.
Fuck. I know what he's really trying to do. He's trying to recreate the PERFECTLY ULTIMATE GREAT MOTH! Yu-Gi-Oh! Card! With it, no duelist will be able to stand against his might.. [editline]12:00[/editline] Unfortunately for him, I have Exodia. "Exodia! Obliterate!
Who the fuck still plays Yu-Gay-Oh?
