• Problem with arms using proportions trick

I'm trying to convert a L4d2 model to gmod, and i am trying to use the proportions trick but experiencing problems, i've read just about every forum and I still can't get the arms to work properly, they get screwed up when the model is animated, this is about my 160th attempt to recompiling the model. I've tried rotating everything to no effect. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/244015/f4a23e2f-fcad-4167-ab1e-75ba3cfb6f29/halp.png
Reference and proportion arm's roation need to be the same, in your case, the "original model"'s arms are rotated by 30 somewhat degrees, the valve biped one on the left are rotated by usually 50°, make sure they have the same rotation, same with the ragdoll animation, it's either this or you'll need to rerig it, you can follow a video tutorial in this thread which I've found easy to follow and useful: https://forum.facepunch.com/f/fbx/rudm/Custom-playermodel-legs-twisted-from-thighs-down
The video shows that the reference skeleton follows the proportions, how did he do that?
