Looks like most of the custom content didn't get packed.
I recently started working on a map set in the mountains which I plan to release for Gmod at some point. I'm impressed that source has actually maintained a pretty decent frame rate on it so far.

Finally got some inspiration to get instances working in SDK 2013 with Gmod and got something compiled:

I had a problem with vbsp not finding gameinfo.txt, however that was because my gameinfo.txt did not have keyvalue "mod" specified. Because apparently vbsp finds gameinfo.txt by using that keyvalue.
Since when did setting an npc as the source entity for an ambient_generic make them lipsync?
Pretty sure the game auto-detects if the wav has embedded phoneme data.
I figured as much, but I'm still impressed that using it as the source entity from a random ambient_generic actually triggers it. I figured it would just make the audio emit from his feet and not much else.
feel free to bury me in boxes, but the way I map, I pull inspiration from one tiny source or idea, and expand upon it. I love tiny world details so I sprinkle them around as frequently as I can. here's a collection of late 60s-70s mid radio jingles, probably vague enough to use for a radio or whatever in the area (or whatever else, really)

The one thing really bugging me is the 10,000 dome lights. A-frames love their skylights and 'alternative light sources' (tiny lamps n shit)
The nature of the walls also being the ceiling give plenty of love for skylights to do their thing....though the majority of the main living space light coming through the front window isn't a bad thing, though at night that could host some interesting challenges when it comes to lighting.

also I suppose as far as the environment it's sitting in...is it all by itself in these woods? is it a cabin in a motel complex (are there other goofy little a-frame cabin neighbors?) you should stick some trees around, and maybe some propane tanks if it's in the sticks, they usually have those giant tanks around for a remote house.

Shillposting another mapping competition - "The Whole Warp Life" . Any goldsrc / src map in which there is a theme of teleportation. Same site and rules as the one I posted earlier to do with ascension ( That I came in 2nd in... out of three. Whoops. )

It's supposed to be by itself in the middle of the backwoods, hence why I haven't made any other houses. Do you think the cliffs would look better if they were lower?
Maybe, but don't bring them too low without adding a second tier of trees, or something. Those props start to lose the illusion quick once you get too close to them.
How do I make curved displacement cliffs similar to the ones in EP2?

To add to this, turning off "spacial" lets you use the "face normal" and "subdiv normal" axes which are EXTREMELY helpful for painting in details that would be difficult on the X/Y/Z axis.
Is this meant to be that one town from Skyrim, or am I just going nuts?
How do these windows look? Maybe I'm being too hard on myself but they look too simple to me
