just wait until black friday, the game is about 20$ then
Doesnt even have to do that. Wait for a free weekend, install the game, get the compatible datatool and have fun.
I don't understand why people take so much offense over emoticons.
The fuck are you on about? Just wait until a free weekend or buy the damn game during Christmas. Oh yeah, we updated the OWMDL file format recently to support vertex colors (which are used for map geometry) I'm in the process of rewriting the format so it's forwards compatible but it'll break basically all non-official formats.
Couldn't give two hoots about moral high ground... just after the models.
Here you go.
Latest PTR is a big one and has a lot of changes that aren't looking good. I'd be backing up your Overwatch versions if you had any intentions of using the tools after the next PTR goes live because I dunno if there will be an update to support it for a while. Who knows though, might not be as bad as it looks (I doubt it) but you really should be backing up anyway.
Back version 1.29 up, a lot changed in 1.30 A lot. So far the damage looks worse than 1.14.
That baby emoji really motivated me to push through this problem and we're almost at a working state again!
I remember someone in this thread was talking about extraction of Hammond's squeaks. Something like if you use "Wrecking ball" in extraction command — you get robot voicelines, but if you type "Hammond" — the tool extract you hamster's squeaks. It doesn't work like that now, so was this idea abandoned or was not possible at all? I remember someone said that Hammond's squeaks are considered as "evironment sounds", not "hero sounds". Are you going to implement this function?
Probably not, they're not voicelines so the tools are working correctly, I dunno who said you would get the squeaks with "Hammond" but that was never the case, DataTool overrides Hammond to Wrecking Ball when you use it because Hammond isn't a hero (it's Wrecking Ball) I think someone posted a zip of the squeaks though.
does anyone know to get the animation to work on any overwatch when extract them out from Quick datatool and when i open the map in blender i can't figure out how to do the animation in there
So far Blizzard has only announced Replay system. Is that the reason?
Hi, I hope I can get some help regarding map imports. I wanted to bring in Eichenwalde, which gave me two owmap files: 68D and 88C. However, when I imported either one of these both only gave me Point A, while I'm looking for stuff around the final point with Balderich's corpse and the castle. https://puu.sh/BRJ6i/a31c32fc07.jpg Any ideas on what I need to do? Thanks!

Hey everyone, I was wondering if there were any updated resources on how to import SEAnim animations into blender. I searched on the owdev wiki, but according to the explanation on there (Tutorial/Import animations into Blender), you would need SMD Refposes which are (as far as I have found) only generated by the pre-1.13 versions of Overtool. If there are any newer resources out there that you know of, please let me know.
SMD Refposes can be still extracted using a flag (something like --extract-refpose=true i think)
A lot of rudamentary changes to the way files are kept.
Hi, I'm trying to get the reinhardt narration from junkenstein, is my only choice to get them from the 0B2 dump or there is some command I can use?
They might be extracted if you extract the map but otherwise there is no command that will do it.
Does anyone know the name of the map loaded for the current World Cup main menu screen?
Could someone run me though extracting files from the game? Ive tried before with little luck(although that was a couple months ago now)
What do you want to extract? There's some guides on the wiki https://owdev.wiki/Tutorial/Extracting_with_DataTool
hey Guys! Will there be a Data Tool Version for PTR too? Thanks for your awesome work!
No, it was decided long ago that there never will be an extraction tools for PTR. Not because it's impossible, but because there is no need to poke blizzard more than necessary.
Got it working but my version of Overwatch is too old to use it with. [CASC] Overwatch build 1.24.0.1.47161 [CASC] Initializing... Please downgrade DataTool. Can't seem to find a version for 1.24.
Why do you want to use Overwatch 1.24? You can probably find an older build on the history page. https://ci.appveyor.com/project/yukimono/owlib/history
I lost access to my battle.net account due to the authenticator i had set. So i haven't been able to update the game. I should be able to update later but for now i'll try the tool version you linked.
hi, i found 00C file in my oldest folder via extracting older builds, how can i convert this file to .obj?
