And there we have both horizontal and vertical repeats. That T-bone under 20 in the lower image repeats right under the tank track.
Hello, I would like to make a request for a rather obscure camo pattern. Known locally as the "Watermelon" vertical stripe pattern, this was issued to Commando units snipers of the Singapore Armed Forces sometime during the 70s-80s: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/409150/19cfce06-1deb-4ad7-87b2-15fdd7837c15/image.png This is the only photograph I have found of the camouflage being worn: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/409150/2618e803-197a-4c04-9f54-0a39209989f9/image.png According to Camopedia, the pattern is very similar to an early vertical stripe pattern used by Cyprus' OYK, both had been rumored to be developed by the IDF: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/409150/e09a9d12-497b-4467-a7c0-dd1ac95e3106/100_4611.jpg I hope you can consider my request, thank you.
I did give this a shot a very long time ago, and gave up. There's too much variation and too little pictures, even with pics from IACMC forums.
Might help you guys. K@mmoFat & Ph1LarFat V3 https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/133109/950a9088-07a7-4096-b56d-a65e445c0c03/20190207_001021.jpg
@frozenbattery Made a not so good recreation of one of those patterns one time. Great to have it in this thread! Thanks!
Yeah, all I could post were uniform pics in the V2 thread. Hopefully it can be recreated more accurately with these snippets.
Request "Second-Generation ERDL" from the late '70s to 1981. Also known as RDF Camo or RDF ERDL. http://camopedia.org/images/5/58/Usa19.jpg http://guessologistcamo.weebly.com/uploads/1/0/1/3/10138922/usa_transitional_1981.jpg http://usmc.cz/files/uniform/USN001S.jpg https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/4hsAAOSwY~1aTIfY/s-l300.jpg https://www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/pict/292402245925_/Us-Military-Vintage-Erdl-Lowlands-Rdf-Camo-Shirt.jpg http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/uploads//monthly_11_2015/post-2-0-45009700-1446393269.jpg
My Woodland/RDF reconstruction's in the 2nd thread. In terms of raws... This is as far as I've gotten: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132862/a328e5a5-bfe1-4a12-a538-6c00458e1cfc/American Woodland.png
wait, they're the same pattern?
M81 Woodland is a 60% larger version of RDF. RDF in turn is a "color standardized" version of ERDL, with thicker black shapes.
Over the past few months I've created a few camouflage patterns for many personal projects I've worked on or help work on. I thought of no better place than to add them to here and maybe let others enjoy what I've. (the first of these is a Digitized DPM pattern and then many colour variations for areas of the British Empire) https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/417956/ccdde367-4295-47ed-8c88-a59fd7d7337e/Digitised DPM Wld.jpg created.
While we're on the subject of DPM, I thought I'd do some recolouring of Tounushi's swatches based on actual CS95 uniforms: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/cb5f2898-5b59-4053-9fa4-37a5b11601a8/Camo_DPM_2ColourDesert1.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/a0cf483e-0fb5-49b8-8f17-e4c0151097fe/Camo_DPM_2ColourDesert2.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/bb1f939a-7223-4e1a-880b-eaa11b55ad16/Camo_DPM_ArktisWoodland.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/282b1757-32f1-4438-8f16-4d46822b5189/Camo_DPM_CS95Woodland1.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/2c6ee2f0-37ff-40b5-bb6c-985db3c87e5f/Camo_DPM_CS95Woodland4.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/a7f2b4b0-303c-4b78-b934-a141aa3769b9/Camo_DPM_CS95Woodland34.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/9b38a750-9a2c-4178-803f-8127c693a46b/Camo_DPM_CS95Woodland43.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/44e3bd63-b378-4ac9-a8c0-bd63ecac0048/Camo_DPM_CS95Woodland67.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/19389cad-4638-4555-8d02-095bee93c863/Camo_DPM_CS95Woodland78.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/11065076-6d8d-4a17-8092-73fe32a68534/Camo_DPM_CS95Woodland79.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/b76de0fd-5719-497e-9096-72a816fac116/Camo_DPM_CS95WoodlandDefinitive4.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/193b8153-e0c9-42af-a3fc-b9acb567f0b1/Camo_DPM_CS95WoodlandDefinitive5.png (As you can probably tell, it took me quite a few palettes before I finally came up with a woodland swatch that satisfied me; and even then I made a few variants with minor differences in shade etc.) Also, reupload of the urban Smog camo, though I still believe there must've been a woodland version around at some point as well: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/9474ee59-b689-427f-912e-0b358b2011e3/stippled urban 60x67cm.png
i hate dpm but i must say this is great
http://www.military-today.com/apc/cv90_armadillo.jpg Just wanted to share this. Look at the image the pattern is painting: craggy rock. It has a pretty nice depth effect. I wonder if it survives mud, though...
Additional recolours using PLCE palettes, as well as the blue Opfor/BATUS pattern because heaven forbid that British squaddies have to contend with 'enemies' that can actually conceal themselves during training exercises: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/1608b8f1-a825-4da4-b1c3-560028ec87e4/Camo_DPM_WebbingWoodland1.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/3bb8ba53-3cb4-493a-b1fe-d6f211ed7d3e/Camo_DPM_WebbingWoodland2.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/465c03d1-f65b-4365-8035-3568b87eca30/Camo_DPM_WebbingWoodland3.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/feeab66f-fe34-4e24-8e7c-ee859011aab3/Camo_DPM_WebbingWoodland4.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/5e13c915-95bc-438b-9cde-d05efe12564f/Camo_DPM_WebbingWoodland5.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/c56b6fed-17d6-4e50-8dc1-804f17069df3/Camo_DPM_WebbingWoodland8.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/b1f44d95-24b4-4a90-a393-591ac4b7e61d/Camo_DPM_WebbingWoodland10.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/3f21b22a-067a-472f-b1c6-ae3a6bb2591f/Camo_DPM_WebbingWoodland11.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/d9eefee5-8a7f-4ca8-9f18-06a420b1c960/Camo_DPM_OpFor.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/4853576b-0412-4a31-8326-410b294c5257/Camo_DPM_OpFor4.png Also, a stab at using various video game camo palettes (Killing Floor, MGS3, MWR etc.), and variations upon the Children of Men camo palette (it is supposed to be a UCP-ised DPM pattern after all): https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/d6172298-19a8-4fb5-be4e-bb4bbba9607a/Camo_DPM_HO.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/4d8086c7-40d5-4f42-ab79-30e8bc826304/Camo_DPM_KFHelmetCover.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/72d0562e-ef20-44a9-9155-fe194b86b9a6/Camo_DPM_MGO2.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/dc02ff4a-fd8f-4594-a416-1afc508c0b21/Camo_DPM_MGS3Ingame.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/3adef97f-5552-4a09-ba5e-b7b04844767f/Camo_DPM_MGS3SurvivalViewer.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/59fde70e-b701-418e-9e11-c15770f7fbf2/Camo_DPM_MWRUltranationalistUrban.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/feaa9927-1b44-4c9f-be0e-72f1633bd969/Camo_DPM_MWRUltranationalistWoodland.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/f47e7d9d-9ccb-407a-abd0-baa7724b6e46/Camo_DPM_ChildrenOfMenStyle.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/5f568ef2-56a9-4a31-b743-c4a100b684e0/Camo_DPM_ChildrenOfMenStyle2.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/ec042d60-3720-4e34-8570-85e01f60f458/Camo_DPM_ChildrenOfMenStyle3.png Lastly, am I the only one who thinks Argentina's 'Camuflaje Patagonico' is quite a dead ringer for the old four-colour desert DPM pattern as far as the palette goes? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/599b05c8-54b9-4153-b502-94e105675ebe/Camo_DPM_ArgentinianCamuflajePatagonico.png
Also, @Tounushi , can I have a version of your Advisor Tigerstripe without the blue grids? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110635/566d51f1-51e4-488e-8994-5fe38a952a0b/Tigerstripe, Advisor Sparse 20180111.png
The grids are just to section it the WIP. I could take one square at a time if I devote myself to it for some hours without distractions.
don't worry about it, i started removing them myself and i've gotten pretty far
I mean the entire tile is still a WIP. That grid is just for sectioning the whole thing, so I don't just jump around the tile when doing a reconstruction.
some unusual patterns I've come across. being tested on plate carriers. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/133109/19f536d7-9476-486d-80af-80f359fcb8c3/FB_IMG_1550581400098.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/133109/edfd4ff5-0f09-477e-ac09-fa9bc3bf0718/FB_IMG_1550581405569.jpg
"Don't look at me! I'm becoming strange!" You're a man of culture as well, I see...
... are you the guy who made that certain camouflage gear pack on the ArmA 3 workshop, by chance???
nope, sorry. I think I've seen the guy who made it though.
DIY woodland Smog/Kukla swatches. First two use Tounushi's DeviantArt palettes, next two are based off illustrations in Osprey Publishing books (specifically ELI 197 Russian Security and Paramilitary Forces since 1991 and ELI 217 The Modern Russian Army 1992–2016), and last two on real-world examples found online. Also did two alternative urban palettes, again on the basis of real-world examples. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/4e6bc117-8668-4325-b257-8c29147c4517/tounushiwoodlandsmog1.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/5fcf719a-95cd-4501-b099-0fa5e8696b15/tounushiwoodlandsmog2.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/b4b70f8a-6127-4b62-878f-6d8a0425605e/ospreywoodlandsmog1.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/bdba883f-5978-48f3-8c22-a5d5a441644f/ospreywoodlandsmog2.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/678388c7-2f3a-462b-a98c-06aadb875b7e/webwoodlandsmog1.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/098525ba-bdf3-48ed-a9b7-391c8c70c590/webwoodlandsmog2.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/8593afad-744b-4eb6-87e4-cffebfa62c67/smogurban1.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/c75eb4bf-3ff8-4b07-9174-7636e1a08b69/smogurban2.png Also had some fun taking Tounushi's Children of Men digi-DPM swatch and applying my CS95 palettes to it. DPM swatches with Children of Men-esque palettes are included in my previous post. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/bb658669-1ee3-4549-a984-686459867b23/comcs95wood.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107161/e64e0a01-7c88-4f27-8606-de096b52deb9/comcs95desert.png

Is there a good tileable Multicam Tropic swatch? Akin to this: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107023/1ef77e23-2c09-4e7b-9cb7-ea97717e305a/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107023/d5261ad0-1b5d-4bb1-8085-818aa539deec/image.png
So I was looking for PECOC DPM photos to sample and I found this: https://i.servimg.com/u/f62/17/81/02/12/0cf9ed10.jpg https://i.servimg.com/u/f62/17/81/02/12/08833f10.jpg https://i.servimg.com/u/f62/17/81/02/12/a3f2f110.jpg It's clearly a DPM variant, but at the same time it features a fifth colour (possibly even a sixth unless the darker green colour is experiencing some weirdly localised fading) which is fairly unusual - the only other five-colour DPM I know of is the Bulgarian version.
I've made a bit of progress with ERDL/Woodland. Got some further samples on one end of it, but not the other. Actually I've found samples for two versions of the left-hand end (as presented in the tile). Would be nice to find a repeat, if I can get further on the other end. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132862/57d8ea41-a454-4e2a-8c00-4ebb6b202293/woodland end pieces.png
got some ERDL reconstructions done. Lowland in early "blurry" print, Highland in crisp print, RDF is basically Woodland, but before the resize. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132862/2d08024d-4a5d-4b40-9e05-9a0884a18fe9/American ERDL Lowland.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132862/4147d60b-10e3-40d1-890c-0b0ad2729507/American ERDL RFD.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132862/1fb2a02a-64d3-4442-a4c5-8adf07a87009/American ERDL Highland.png Then a treat: 1975 disruptive test version, with a Tiger Stripe overprint. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132862/53477a2b-bdd5-41d9-b55f-5ffe655a539b/American ERDL 1975 disruptive.png
Has anyone tried making v-1 of the prototype camo seen here? http://www.hyperstealth.com/CUEPAT/index.html http://www.hyperstealth.com/CUEPAT/Securetech-CUEPAT-1.jpg
