Thanks for all the models everyone -- was wondering if anyone had extracted the tauntaun models from BF2, been looking around and haven't been able to find them. Thanks!
Everything in your image is actually rendering perfectly; you need to add the alpha (transparency) textures to the scalp and hair meshes. The only reason that part of the seam is visible on my render is because I rendered it quickly... if I had rendered it normally those seams would be invisible. For example, here is an old render I did last year:

Thanks guys, this is all very interesting and I've take on-board what you're all saying. Yes I'm aware of transparencies, and it's very clever how they're using it for 3D and games nowadays, however I've come to realise this is not working on my system. I've tried importing the FBX as normal as I can but in the viewport and renders they are still not doing it properly. My next step as obviously go to the material editor, and to my dismay, it doesn't show me anything, I can't access any material slot for the meshes! What's the deal with those bad lighting renders? it's not a picasso either, but does it. The transparency sure eats samples as hell. The model is not hundred percent accurate or easy to make look real either. I may attempt a plastic at some point in time. Hmm strange... I wish I could help more but I'm not at all familiar with the program you're using, so I'm not positive what the problem is or what's causing it. And yes! I always like to use smoothing (or Hypernurbs on C4D) on human heads.
Are you able to get the han solo model form the endor dlc?
I can, but it will take some time.
Any joy on uploading those First Order models from the VR game?
@Rancor022 looks like you figured out the face fix! 😊.. assuming you used the dumper, how do you import the mesh/pose into 3d space??
We've had the means to fix the faces since the game launched; you will need Daemon's face fixing tool, if it's still available. HOWEVER it will not work with recent rips of the game, so if you recently dumped the files, then there's nothing you'll be able to do until either Daemon updates his tools or GalaxyMan implements it in Frosty, which seems unlikely. So basically unless you dumped the game files before summer, there's not much you can do right now unfortunately.

Nope. I can't assist. I don't have enough space nor power to run bf2 right now. I dunno if those frostbite tools, especially the vur tool, are working with this bf2 version right now. If not you may have to ask and be patient. Deamon is always busy with lots of other projects.

I've already asked @id-daemon but I got boo of a response, due to him being 'busy', though he does seem to find the time to visit FP frequently so I should at least thank you for replying to my request for assistance.. If you do happen to have good rapport with him, maybe eventually you find the motivation, generosity & storage to not only help myself, but the majority of your peers on here who are not equipped, nor capable of getting around this perennial problem... little note for all the bf2 heads, dice has them setup all cross eyed. You should rotate out the eye correctly for your renders.
Has anybody extracted (and fixed) all the heads from EA's battlefront 1 and 2? not looking for the newer heads since i know they are unfixable at the moment.
I have 2 version of the fixes backed up. vur_fixed_faces_v1 and vur_fixed_faces_v2. Over a year old. I don't know if and perhaps when the skeletons of those were changed. Means i don't know if they still work.

Yeeeehhh. I thought you use blender and import and append them over the fbx import that came out of frosty. I have no broken data lying arround right now tho, to check if this is all of it, or it needs some more.
Hey man, I'm rendering trying to mimick studio lighting...and with Mental Ray! What are you using to render yours? Also, I'm now facing problems with the hair mesh, I had to make an instance to the Opacity map and use the Alpha on that, but they are still not coming out completely transparent, even after adjusting the parameters. Strange, I've never seen that happen before. Could you post the image you're using as the alpha?
Does anybody know where I might find a low-poly CR90? Again, 2000-3000 polys is fine.
@wubba visiting FP to check for messages takes a few seconds making a new tool for facefixing may take 1-3 weeks thats a big difference
Sorry @id-daemon .. I just figured you were ignoring me as it showed you were on FP not long after i posted the message.. then again, you probably get a lot of requests for the tool update.. Would donations for your time be an sufficient incentive for you to work on it??.. I'm sure if I summed up a fund raiser, a lot of the guys on here would be more than glad to contribute!!!
@wubba No, I'm not working with GalaxyMan2015 or anyone else. Also donations will not help. I can only decide to delay all other games and work with SWBF if I see many people needed that. Currently I dont think its more wanted than other games. p.s. facepunch has no PM feature anymore, right? Then where did you try to contact me?
