Is there a way to find all of the old development names for maps and heroes? Like for example King's Row was London, and Pharah was Rocketqueen?
In the game? No.
If you have anything specific in mind I might know, no guarantees tho
They only have development names for the things that started development in (pre-)alpha-era characters and maps. Anything after that will have a finalized name barring some exceptions. I think Ana's the latest that used indev names. They only exist in achievement references.
@Naomi I've got GitHub pull requests for both the changes we discussed...
Oops, didn't see the Blender PR. It's merged.
New patch is out on live servers (bug fixes). An update for DataTool is required 👀
Has anyone had success with extracting Menu/GUI graphics? I would like to extract arcade icons from Play - Arcade page, but looks like none of the current tools are able to do it..
Working on it. It's harder than you think. I'll probably release something to dump resources from menu elements.
An updated DataTool has been released Release Notes: Added support for Overwatch 1.33.0.1.55290 Added "scale-anims" flag to control SEAnim skeleton scaling. Fixed a bug in the flag parser that broke some commands and prevented them from working. Few internal changes to data models and stuff, don't worry about it. Notes: The scale-anims flag changes the skeleton scaling on the SEAnims. By default this flag is enabled and nothing has changed. Set the flag to false to disable the skeleton scaling. This should only be disabled when using Maya or Blender 2.8 (not 2.79) Toolchain: https://ci.appveyor.com/api/buildjobs/iauop7b1ulto8fx2/artifacts/dist%2Ftoolchain-release.zip Other Artifacts: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/yukimono/owlib/builds/22735196/artifacts
I've updated the DataTool GUI to include the new SEAnim skeleton scaling switch: Download here
I've read the documentation and all of that but still couldn't find a parameter to list or extract the music/sound files as a whole. Only "hero voice" is documented. Can someone assist me on this?
Extracting maps should extract music used on the map but in general there is no command that can extract music and sounds. Music isn't exactly easy to find and there are tens of thousands of sounds that are almost impossible to differentiate. You can dump all sounds with TankView if you wish. The 03F folder is all sounds that aren't voicelines. There is easily over 20,000 sounds in the 03F folder however.
Wow, didn't know about TankView. Found 03F, delving into operation. Thanks a lot
Hello, just coming back to the Overwatch Extraction Threads to get to know, if is still possible to get the Pre-Reaper (Reyes's) lines? Can't get to them now and I own oldest CASCLib, but keys and other tools updated. Does TankLib is used to replace CASCLib?
Hey, do sound effects have some kinda names? (not only IDs) Also, does anyone have the old skirmishing/long wait warning pop sound effect? (or queue info sound effects at all)
Nothing in Overwatch has file names, it's all IDs. As for TextureTool. No idea, it's pretty old code...
Hello everyone! I'm following this threads since the v1 but I encountered a problem : I need to extract the animation for cultist zenyatta eyeball (the one in the balls or the one in his chest) obv for cosplay purpose, I tried to get the animation file into blender but nothing happens and I'm a total newbie in this things.. anyone can help me? p.s. I really can't figure out how to extract anything with the new extractor system BUT I already have all the files needed from a previous extraction
TextureTool is no longer supported. I'll add an "export converted format" option to TankView, there are a few things that I have left to implement and that's one of them. Overwatch doesn't expose filenames, when the game gets packaged up it removes them in favor of these IDs in an effort to minimize accidental leaks and deduplication. Old sounds are probably hard to find, I'd tell you to wait until TankView can export converted files and then going through them manually. If you do find the ID, or the ID of something in the general area (sounds are usually grouped together) do tell us here so we can work towards getting it extracted proper. I assume you mean the voice lines from Retribution? If so yes, but I don't know if it still works. If you mean literally go back in time to hear Reyes before he became Reaper, not even Jeff Kaplan can help you with that one, chief. I remember looking into this a while back out of personal interest, but the eyes are kind of special and we don't have a way to display them properly yet.
Hey I've been having trouble importing the models into blender I'm on 2.79 and I've tried applying the add-on but it just seems like it doesn't show up anywhere
I got it set up today from scratch, its possible 2.79b
Baptiste patch is out.
Can someone help me, I was able to extract characters with datatool but I can't manage to import ANY OWMDL file to any application. I've tried the blender importer, I tried Maya and I tried 3DS Max. Nothing works. With 3ds max it just reads the file was imported and it never is, same with Maya and Blender gives me read errors + the latest blender importer on the site has a dead link. My versions of Maya and 3DS Max and Blender are all the latest versions. 2 years ago I was able to import them into 3ds max but it no longer works. Thanks for the help.
You can stack multiple SEAnim skeletons on each other as long as they use the same animation.
Anyone?
Jeez I've got the same issue too, also I've tried to install latest version of plugin but it doesn't work at all and doesn't even shows up in the plugin list. Developer of OWMDL plugin, you're so nice to your users, doesn't even leaves any solution to bypass this crap thanks a lot mmlol
no one in this thread have any telepathic abilities, so you need to be more descriptive if you are hoping for help. Things that can help: Version of Overwatch from which models were extracted (Baptiste patch still unsupported as of now) Version of blender (2.79b have the most stable support, 2.80 still unstable, though i might be wrong) Version of importer plugin Screenshots with full errors
Welp, I've managed to make backup of Overwatch before update https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/444323/9fe2693e-5fec-4a24-864c-68e0720e4563/2019-03-21 00_50_54.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/444323/bb1b85b6-3b8e-40ee-830e-4fd85a5ad6f6/2019-03-21 00_50_43.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/444323/fc89e2ed-0d1d-4f7f-8f66-945996890af3/2019-03-20 22_32_20.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/444323/8cc36ee9-8fb4-48e6-8890-17ef333a2f3b/2019-03-21 01_22_18.png
Second screenshot shows blender 2.80, yet third one is an error from 2.79. Am i missing something? Try using this combination: blender 2.79b blender.org OWM plugin for blender 2.79b GitHub This combination works for me, at the very least.
