When I and a few friends first loaded this map on a server, we were all hearing a screeching corrupted ambient sound. But otherwise, we all love the map! The amount of detail is stunning, it feels like the biggest Gmod map we've ever been on. We had to memorize street names to get around because we were getting lost constantly, but that's a REALLY good thing! No other map we've played on has given us that sort of experience. We spent hours looking for secret paths and Easter eggs. We rode the subway for at least half an hour, chilling as it made its rounds. Cruised around on the streets in simfphys police car like we were looking for crime. It was the most non-roleplay (not DarkRP) related fun we've had in quite a while in Gmod. The dance club with all the music is my favorite part of the map.
That's not a sound I wanted to hear at 1:00 AM, that is very much cursed.

I've been trying to take matters into my own hands and get started on remaking the AI nodes using the Nodegraph Editor, but the map keeps loading the previous nodegraph that isn't compatible with the current version, and there doesn't seem to be an option to erase all the nodes and start from scratch (There's "Reload Nodegraph", but that just brings up the same nodegraph). In order to make this nodegraph working, I'd probably have to search all over the map and look for nodes in places where they shouldn't be. It sucks, because the nodegraph that someone else made for this map actually worked well with the Zombie/NPC Invasion mod. I really liked playing the map with metrocops and rebels randomly spawning in the map back when the nodegraph did work.
I'm glad you had a good experience. I think the reason why that sound corruption happened is because mounting L4D and loading this map ends up in that specific soundfile being loaded twice. The soundfile that's packed into the .bsp has a lower bitrate (smaller file size) compared to the L4D one, so maybe the engine gets confused. At least that's what I think is happening. Let me know if you end up uploading it to the workshop and I'll add it to the required items section
Hey @Fishke , I just noticed the streets have like a rainy texture on them, how do I do that? In my game the streets are pretty plain and the texture isn't there. By the way, a few days ago I did some cleaning on my Gmod and now the maps runs pretty good, before I had like 15fps at best and now I have 40fps at best, so that's are some good news.
Alright, now my friend's server is having a strange issue with this map after the final update. This happens on his server with all maps with pakrat content, but until now it was just fine. All custom models built into the map (lamp posts, seats, tables, certain stairs, etc.) no longer have any collisions. It acts like a desync, the collisions are there clientside, but aren't there serverside. You kinda get snagged and drift through them weirdly, but other players see you as just straight up walking through stuff as if they aren't even there. The soundscapes are also completely missing, probably due to the same issue. I know it's not your map's fault since this happens with a lot of maps that don't have a separate workshop model content pack, but could you possibly give any insight into why this could be happening? For further reference and wtf-ery, I have two servers myself. One is almost a 1:1 clone of my friend's with the issue (serves as a backup), and another shares basically nothing with either of them, and neither of my servers have this issue. Which is weird, you'd think the clone would have the issue but it doesn't.

If you mean the reflective surfaces, make sure mat_specular is set to 1, otherwise I have no idea I don't really know. Check if the server is still using an older version of the map and try downloading the newest one from the workshop
Did that; if it didn't update it'd probably complain about a differing version. Not sure what's going on but we just extracted the map temporarily until we can figure it out. It seems to work as long as it's not mounting from workshit. Thanks for answering, though.

Yeah, I understand and all, just wanted the map dev to know, maybe they could talk some sense into the troll Yeah he seemed like he was mentally deficient Someone mentioned his steam profile level and he relied to that asking what they meant and all Its a great map and its kinda sad that nobodys really collated all the ester eggs and such in a youtube vid or whatever cause Some seem spooky and not all of us have the bravery to even attempt these things
There is really no such thing as "talking sense" into a troll. They know what they're doing, they're actively trying to piss people off by saying obscene and ridiculous things. It's just intentional jackassery, to try to talk to them at all is just giving them the attention they crave.

Hey so I'm currently messing around with the AI nodes for a new gamemode I'm working. The nodes were working but after today's update the don't work anymore. Is there anything in particular that I can do or should I just wait?

I was the one who made the AI nodes for the map. I might have to remake them entirely from scratch, unless there's an easier way to get them working in the new update.

On the hunt, can I at least ask if there are any inside buildings or in places normal players wouldn't be able to reach
