One of the most important things when designing, is to make something different, something that haven't been made that much before. So just do something random you've got in your head, and it just might work.

Well, to set it straight, the only reason I "stole" that design was because I wanted comments on my navigation system, and since last time I showed off something I had made in Flash, hardly no one even noticed.
So instead of just showing up the navigation system itself, I made a quick website, and since the navigation system I had made was inspired from Jlern.com, I just "borrowed" the design from that website as well.
You don't honestly think I would rip that design off and use as an actual serious website, do you?
And rip it off that obvious, and not even caring about the text?
I have been doing this for about five years now, and I would never rip someone of and use someones work as a serious website.
So, now you know.
Fam icons are fine when used sparingly, imo

You advertised it, on here, as your personal website. That's pretty serious use. You just used a navigation system someone else made. Even if you made it yourself, completely, there's nothing original about it.
