Then I would re-write the code for the navigation keys. EDIT: Since people think apps are useless, I should put in a market system.
A market system is also useless. In-fact, another web browser is useless. There's a baker's dozen of them. You're trying to re-invent the wheel (by borrowing another wheel..)
Trying for what seems to be like the millionth time to get some VBOs rendering properly in OpenGL. Nothing's drawing, posted about it in WDYNHW if anyone feels like helping out :v:
Then I would re-write the code for the navigation keys. EDIT: Since people think apps are useless, I should put in a market system.
No because the last thing we need is another wrapper around IE. Bells and whistles are no good if your engine is shit.
Then I would re-write the code for the navigation keys. EDIT: Since people think apps are useless, I should put in a market system.
Nobody will use your "browser", ever. But that's okay, I guess you haven't been programming for very long and therefore you've learned a lot by making this.
What? I don't get what you mean by it taking up "tons of performance" running at max fps. The only thing that happens is it runs smoother. I'm pretty concerned by the huge differences in FPS... I want to add a lot more stuff to it but can't find many more places to make it run any faster. There's a few things I know I should do but I don't want to carry on adding stuff if it's going to make the FPS unbearably low.
Why not make a lightweight version with all the fancy bits that cause lag stripped out. Also have you thought about using java and making an applet instead?
Then I would re-write the code for the navigation keys. EDIT: Since people think apps are useless, I should put in a market system.
What's the "Page Finder" feature and how does it differ from just typing a URL in to the address bar

Nothing's drawing, posted about it in WDYNHW if anyone feels like helping out :v:
You could take a look at my VBO code (that's probably deprecated) here and here [editline]10th July 2011[/editline]
Why not make a lightweight version with all the fancy bits that cause lag stripped out.
Why not make a lightweight version with all the fancy bits that cause lag stripped out. [editline]10th July 2011[/editline]
What's the "Page Finder" feature and how does it differ from just typing a URL in to the address bar
It's a advanced web browsing system.
Yes, I will make that, BitlBrowser Lite a good name?
He quoted my post, so I would assume he was directing it at me. I don't see any point in making it an applet. I'd rather keep it javascript/canvas.
It's a advanced web browsing system.
What's advanced about it?
He quoted my post, so I would assume he was directing it at me. I don't see any point in making it an applet. I'd rather keep it javascript/canvas.
oops, sorry about that.
It's a advanced web browsing system.
a advanced web browsing system tickles my intrigue
Think of it this way, why would someone choose your browser over a good browser, such as Firefox or Chrome. Throwing in unnecessary features such as a calculator, which everyone already has, or a notepad, which everyone already will not help.
less whining, more working [editline]10th July 2011[/editline] ratings spam from quark:, how mature. hopefully a mod can deal with this.
2D normal map refraction or something more complicated ?
2D normal map refraction or something more complicated ?
exactly the former. in processing, as usual.
Hopefully you can shut up and deal with it. If you get annoyed by little small images with a number next to them, getout. Really, it's not a big deal.

Still in its early stages (started in March) and we do not know in which direction it will eventually go, but I thought I'd post this anyway.
What's with the white rectangles on the main screen?
What's with the white rectangles on the main screen?
Looks to be the characters field of view, if you're talking about what I think you're talking about.
What's with the white rectangles on the main screen?
The game is grid based, just like the traditional rogue-likes, and the white lines indicate your field of view.
ratings spam from quark:, how mature. hopefully a mod can deal with this.
I rated you dumb for these
peanus

balls
I guess I got carried away, you've got a strong aura.
The game is grid based, just like the traditional rogue-likes, and the white lines indicate your field of view.
that's cool but i think the white should be a little less noticeable, it sticks out too much and diverts attention from the scene
that's cool but i think the white should be a little less noticeable, it sticks out too much and diverts attention from the scene
They are optional. If turned off, the invisible part of the map will just be a bit darkened from the rest.
man i suck at level ideas agree if i should make a thread for whoever wants to contribute level ideas given an example of the game mechanics disagree if i shouldn't
Well, that's getting there :\ I need to figure out how to best propagate light horizontally next.. yay
man i suck at level ideas agree if i should make a thread for whoever wants to contribute level ideas given an example of the game mechanics disagree if i shouldn't
Have you made a level editor? Perhaps you could let people physically make levels for you? :)
I've been making some procedural music stuff for the contest... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4081391/procmus.mp3 Should I add more instruments? (note, the time the sounds play isn't procedural, it just plays procedurally generated sounds (sine waves) with random pitch whenever I click)
What's advanced about it?
It runs on a Gameboy Advance, duh.
Got BitlBrowser Lite done. I'll go release it. [editline]10th July 2011[/editline]
It runs on a Gameboy Advance, duh.
No, it runs on a Gameboy 1. Released. Get it here: http://bitlbrowser.weebly.com/uploads/4/2/0/5/4205339/bitlbrowser_lite.zip
