I always thought the scout was crazy inaccurate without scoping.
Anyway I'm working on some stuff for the game competition. I'm glad one was started since I was starting to get worried about my lack of doing something productive.
Won't have screen shots or anything up for ages since I'm writing the "engine" back-end from scratch.
all snipers in Cs 1.6 have the same accuracy when not zoomed in as when zoomed in.
inventories ,containers and junk sucks to do.
all snipers in Cs 1.6 have the same accuracy when not zoomed in as when zoomed in.
But aren't they 100% accurate while transfering from hip to scope?

From what I remember I thought that only the Scout was like that. Or at least the AWM is useless for noscoping, because if you move even a little you won't hit anything. It's like the barrel was a rubber hose.

I think its more like you were trying to fire a 50 cal sniper rifle from the hip, while moving, and trying not to break your wrists in the process :P

The shot should still be accurate (limited to how good you are at aiming from the hip of course). It's once you pull the trigger and the bullet is already on it's way to the target that you will be hit by the recoil.
The gun will preform the same regardless if you fire from the hip or you aim with the scope.
How would one do that
Dry erase the walls away, ofc.
Yes! My Sound Emitter is working, the further away you are the quieter it becomes. Wonder if I can get this working in 5.1 surround sound.
Still got panning to do...

Its extremely difficult to fire something as heavy as a sniper rifle from the hip, without seriously injuring yourself
Panning is sorted, now to make it OOP :v:
Finally something I can post in this thread!

Well that took me longer than it should have. Welp at least I got some motivation to get back into programming. :v:
It's a "you-don't-want-to-modify-your-minecraft-yet-you-want-some-sort-of-sophisticated-gps-that-works-online-that-doesn't-require-a-massive-graph-in-your-face" application. It uses SharPcap for packet interception (only reading packets client->server). When it's done in 2074, it'll have location saving (with hotkeys so there's no convoluted interface until you want to rename the location. I'm thinking something like F6 for quicksave, F7 for save with location information interface), some basic location navigation and simple location saving/sharing. Perhaps with chat logging, that could be useful.
Also visible in the back: The code that is much simpler than I expected it to be. I thought it kept breaking so I rewrote it like 5 times with several different functions, and I kept getting stack overflow. Well it turned out that 2 functions that called that one (for simple differentiation between double and float) called themselves again instead of calling Bitconverter.ToDouble/Float :downs:
Hm. We aren't a subforum anymore, apparently. Hardware & Software seems to have disappeared totally.
Edit: How is this late? It happened 7 minutes before I posted.

Goto the front page and look down.

Nope. Find the CIPWTTKT thread, then. Hardware and Software (the forum) has disappeared.
Its extremely difficult to fire something as heavy as a sniper rifle from the hip, without seriously injuring yourself
First of all, the AWP you're talking about from Counter-Strike weights about 6.5 kg (That's like 14 lb for you Americans) and the highest caliber round it can fire is a .338 Lapua Magnum (8.58 mm or 0.338 in) (which if I remember correctly the CS one uses). Not a .50 Caliber. Yes, it's a heavy gun but not extremely heavy. Plus, we're talking about AIMING the gun. Of course your accuracy will be off if you fire from the hip. But if you've practiced you would still be able to aim fairly well.
The bipod is there to allow better accuracy and not really to reduce the recoil, which if of course also does. The weapon is also equipped with a Muzzle Brake which are designed to reduce recoil. And as long as you know how to handle the recoil you will be fine, FPSRussia has a video where he fires a .50 Desert Eagle one handed without problem.
Long story short. I don't think you will have any serious problems firing that weapon from the hip.

Oh.
Just been looking at some code I wrote last year.
It processes items in a queue - how do you think I handled completion events? A nice tidy event firing when there's a completion/error?
Nope, I had integers called "isFinished" and "isError" in the class and the main sub just sat there in a while loop waiting for these to switch to 1 before it moved on.
Jesus Christ.
Murkrow, your program lies! Pi != 19.55138
The 5 seconds of panic when i thought garry deleted the section :v:
Murkrow, your program lies! Pi != 19.55138
Why has this thread suddenly turned into WAYWO/Gun discussion..?
all snipers in Cs 1.6 have the same accuracy when not zoomed in as when zoomed in.
I presumed they were talking of CS:S. What Cold said is correct, but in CS:S, the AWP has terrible accuracy not zoomed in
[editline]11th July 2011[/editline]
That being said, CS:S has nothing to do with programming, so back on topic :v:
I was waiting some time for a great program to give this to.

I am out of my patience, so I showed it anyways.
This is the programmer's chat thread more than anything.
This is the programmer's chat thread more than anything.
unfortunately.
unfortunately.
It's not like the general chatter is stymieing the flow of content to the thread, the only alternative I see to the current format would be a thread with very little activity, and no discussions.
Where's the fun in that?
I think I worded my post badly, I meant what made it turn into a gun discussion. I didn't see much pertaining to guns or CSS or firing from the hip or whatever it is we're currently talking about :v:

Collision is still not perfect, there are some minor bugs, but it's good enough to work on the game itself for now.
I added a spring. :D
Is there some way to get the class name of a Method in C#? I'm trying to write a logger like thing, and I want it to automatically stick on the class name and method name of the string being logged. Method name I can do, but how do I get the class name of the method that called this function?
I propose we do an experiment with the next thread, where every post has to be content based. No discussion, just content. Would be interesting to see if people make more progress.
