Hmm. Started a De-Railer. Yeah, I'm not going to use a shader (Except for shadow mapping) and tbh, it's only for 2D use.
I'm looking for a coding buddy for Löve2D Anyone in Europe would be preferred, because of timezones.

argh fucking coplanar polygons :v:
Don't think anyone remembers but I used to post about a planet renderer I did as a school project about a year ago. Lately I've been working on my own graphics engine (the planet renderer used Ogre). Today I got this book: So my goal for the rest of the summer is to move the planet renderer from Ogre and improve it. If I manage to get some time over I will most likely try to create a super simple Planet <-> Space shooter.

I didn't know that so specific books even exist.
I've been using it a lot recently.
Want to add me on steam?
I remember it, it was amazing. Why do you want to move it from Ogre?
I've been working on my own graphics engine for a while now mostly for fun and learning and it would be cool to actually use it. :) It's kinda simple but I've implemented all the stuff that I actually used in Ogre so it shouldn't be that hard to move it.
Mind posting a link to the vids/images? I must have not been around back then
Yeah sure. Here's a timelapse-thingy that shows the atmosphere: Also got a bunch of unorganized images from the development here.
I worked on my AirTraffic game after a while. I implemented the different runways and aircrafts to be loaded from JSON file so I can easily modify everything. I still have to do interpolation, animations and sounds.
C# or Java, which one is better?
C# or Java, which one is better?
It depends what you want to do [editline]13th July 2011[/editline] It's like asking "Fork or Spoon, which one is better?"
It depends what you want to do [editline]13th July 2011[/editline] It's like asking "Fork or Spoon, which one is better?"
Knife is the best obviously.
It's like asking "Fork or Spoon, which one is better?"
Then what's a spork in this analogy?
Then what's aspork in this analogy?
C++
Then what's aspork in this analogy?
objective-C ? [editline]0[/editline] its useful, but nobody really uses it unless they have to because forks and spoons are easier
objective-C ? [editline]0[/editline] its useful, but nobody really uses it unless they have to because forks and spoons are easier
And it also looks slightly retarded to most people. :itsacutleryanalogy:
Some pre-alpha gameplay of Mors Cerebri on a tiny map in bad quality, but oh well.

Other than that, it's looking great!
I still think those white lines should be a bit more transparent if not completely removed. Other than that, it's looking great!
Thanks :) As said last time, you can turn them off, they are optional. Also you can enable a grid overlay, which might help. But I just tested your suggestion, this is at 75% transparency and the other two variants, what do you think? The thing is, for gameplay reasons it has to be completely clear which field is in view and updated and which is not visible and might contain "old" information... without the lines, this is not given due to the lighting.
Why not use the 2:nd version without any grids at all? But then you need to fix the shadow "bug" Aha nvm, thought it was some bug because of the shadow in the middle
It depends what you want to do [editline]13th July 2011[/editline] It's like asking "Fork or Spoon, which one is better?"
Could you give me an example please?
Could you give me an example please?
Java has multi-platform support, and website integration through applets, for one.
Could you give me an example please?
Well what do you want to make? If you just want to learn a new language, chose at random.
Could you give me an example please?
It will go a lot faster if you tell us what you plan on doing with programming.
