Thanks, I now use it. [editline]12:19AM[/editline] We just helped this kiddy get 3GB's extra instead of him helping us.
I don't see an issue, considering how he provided both a standalone link and a referral link. Plus, by using the referral, we get extra space. So why complain? [editline]01:19PM[/editline] Also, thanks OP.
Since you didn't lie about the referral, i'll use the referral link as a good choice :3

Also, thanks OP.
No problem :p.
Since you didn't lie about the referral, i'll use the referral link as a good choice :3
Yay, thanks x3. You get some extra space too for using that link lol. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered whoring it lol.
I've been using drop box for a while. It's especially useful for photo shops or image hosting as it means it all condenses into one step instead of Save image>log into photo bucket or whatever you use>upload>link to image it goes save image>auto uploaded>link . It's also useful for syncing my server to main computer, however it's quicker to use a remote desktop LAN connection to do that as the speeds are much higher.
Man I love this. Great find!
My dick, and why you should suck it (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - verynicelady))
So how much space do you have now? 5Gb?
I'm using Live Mesh, it has 5GB.
I just tried DropBox now and it's much better than Live Mesh (except the 5GB of course). Thanks OP
So how much space do you have now? 5Gb?
I've had about 4.25gb space for a month or so now :p. Now i've got 5gb though. Though thats not why I made the thread, if thats what you're implying lol. Referring people just gives them extra space, so they have to refer one less person to reach 5gb :p.
That puts me out of the picture :c. Dropbox supports OS X 10.4, so until live mesh does i'm sticking with them lol. Nice service though, from what i'm looking at :3.
Mesh supports Mac, and soon phones.
Mesh supports Mac, and soon phones.
Dropbox supports Mac and phones.
Mesh supports Mac, and soon phones.
Mesh supports newer macs lol. loads of people have/are waiting for snow leopard to upgrade do they don't have to pay twice lol.
I love how they can't even afford to buy dropbox.com from its current owner, and yet you all trust them to provide the hardware necessary to store and backup your data. Cool frontend+software, but you have to think about what is behind it.
I love how they can't even afford to buy dropbox.com from its current owner, and yet you all trust them to provide the hardware necessary to store and backup your data.
This is stupid. Dropbox.com was registered in 1995 - I doubt anybody would be willing to sell that domain for less than thousands. Why would they pay a lot of money for a domain when they could use it on their infrastructure?

Dropbox.com is one of those stupid link sites, somebody who is going to do something useful with it should have it. 2. If I wanted to get Dropbox, and I didn't feel like Googling, the first URL I'd type would be www.dropbox.com, it took a Google search to figure out that it's www.getdropbox.com. Most users are noobs, and probably never would have found it.

Damn this is epic, thanks!
1. Dropbox.com is one of those stupid link sites, somebody who is going to do something useful with it should have it.
This is a well known practice in the "domain industry" known as parking - had Dropbox contacted them about the domain, they would probably have been asked thousands of dollars for it. Hell, I let a domain of another nickname I use expire - I contacted the person who bought and parked it and they wanted 10000 USD for it. Yeah, not worth it.
2. Of course it's a disadvantage that they don't own dropbox.com - but how does that make their service instantly awful? Try the app out, it's pretty cool for transferring stuff between PC's.
