Ad sense is going to make you a couple of quarters at most.
How so? It's very easy, someone goes on your site and you make a few cents, promote it and you make a lot of money.

I don't think you understand how hard it is to promote a site and get it to a stage were it is popular enough to generate a reasonable income from adsense, especially with a webs.com site.
I don't think you understand how hard it is to get a site out there.
My uncle has 6 sites up all with google adsense, he said he will help me.
You do realise that you need $100 before you can cash-out as well?

Sure do.
Also, you might want to quality control your information, right now it's pretty much a bunch of bullshit gathered into a 5-second page that isn't very pleasing to read.

I don't plan on buying it until I get a lot more content on it.
Instead of getting a lot more content, how about getting content that isn't biased and/or bullshit.
AdSense can work. I've generated roughly £2000 since November with it.
AdSense can work.
Until they decide to close your account and won't tell you why. :S

Thank you for being the only person who doesn't scream out it doesn't work.
No-one is screaming out it doesn't work. I've made a fair bit of money from it myself, so I know it works.
Thank you for being the only person who doesn't scream out it doesn't work.
Depends on what keywords your site uses, some pay $1+ for a click, some 1 cent.
Thank you for being the only person who doesn't scream out it doesn't work.
However, the site Hexxeh has it on appeared on numerous news sites and tech blogs. Hell, he was in the New York Times with it in case you haven't heard. So that's hardly normal.
Just imagine what garry makes, and why he put all the css in the ad folder. :v:
Ok guys, I am gonna start from scatch and buy a domain from gandi soon.
I just bought a domain with Ghandi and have a VPS running Webmin on Debian 5 x64, can anyone help me get the two running in sync? I plan on using the VPs to host my community website.

Cool, learn proper HTML and CSS while you're at it.
Don't crap up your site with ads until you're getting 1,000 visits a day as an absolute minimum

1 Small google adsense ad isn't bad at all.
http://jboden.org.uk/srd-draft/
Started coding up the design.
also hurray so far, got consistency across browsers, won't be long before I hit a shit storm of problems with padding and margins I bet though.

And you will make nothing.
With about 1,000 - 1,500 daily visits, I make $2 a day.

Which is barely enough to break even

I really love the shadows! Good job.

Real nice. Maybe your sidebar is a little small.
[editline]11:21PM[/editline]
And the header is too small IMO.
http://www.wegea.com/ here is my site, any thing I should change? What should I do with the logo?

Yeah I agree with the header, it is looking rather small in comparison to the rest of the site.
Not really happy with the sidebar at the moment either.

Times New Roman font when used like that is generally bad, looks default because well, it is default. I would change the font face and perhaps re-think the colour scheme.

I think that colour scheme could work if he puts more effort into it.

I guess so, the colours complement each other pretty well and don't clash so its possible. They are hard colours to manipulate to look stylish however, but its possible.
I think I might try making another template with more colour and cool stuffs. I'm taking this fight too notepad++!
[editline]11:39PM[/editline]
That didn't sound cool did it...

I have to disagree here, I prefer putting ads on from the start, not to generate revenue (internal ads is fine), but to keep the site consistent. Ads should be worked into the design, and should always be planned out from the very start. It also means visitors won't be 'surprised' by ads.
Just be tasteful in your layout, throw some adsense or whatever up, and forget about it, just work on traffic from then on.
