The navigation is a problem, as well as the fact that there is a lot of empty space, but personally, I felt that the overall design wasn't that bad, just needed some work.

The C is blocky and they both looks blurry (jpg compression), oh and don't use tables.
If you check, its a PNG although I agree the text doesnt look too hot, and what is wrong with tables?

Okay, Its limiting when you are doing complex layouts, my site isnt complex. It increases the filesize slightly, okay, that I can understand, and as long as you clearly define cell sizes it will be the same in every browser.
It's bad for indexing sites, readability, etc. Just use CSS you lazy bastard.

It'll take a lot longer to render and it's just not cool. Ask anyone why tables are bad for layouts and they will give you the same answer.

I can understand what you mean, get something working, or get it working better. Anyhow my index page which uses tables currently stands at 3.07KB, Give me 20 mins to sort out a CSS version and see the reduction.
