The singular refers to a bunch. So there is one bunch of forums. There are multiple forums. There are a bunch is acceptable too, but not the only option. [editline]07:46PM[/editline] [img_thumb]http://ahb.me/8pj[/img_thumb]
Oh cocks. That would be something to do with it not liking inline-block elements. My usual fix obviously isn't working...
When I type "torekk is awesome" it only shows "torekk is awesom", only when I put another space it shows the e. Is that intended to work like that?
When I type "torekk is awesome" it only shows "torekk is awesom", only when I put another space it shows the e. Is that intended to work like that?
Fixed that. I'm not really focusing on how the form updates though, more the rendering of the fonts. It's really designed to have text created once and not changed in realtime... for nice-looking headings and stuff. The way I flood the DOM with new elements for each character, you wouldn't want to use this heavily.
It doesn't work in chrome.
Well, looks like I didn't miss much except a huge argument! My Chrome also died, as did Chromium, so I'm using the Flock Beta, which is surprisingly good, but still sucks compared to the real Chrome :/ Back to web development, Mod Outlet continues!
Your chrome died? How can that happen?
It doesn't work in chrome.
Works fine for me.
Your chrome died? How can that happen?
No idea, but pages just never load, they hang indefinitely, very strange. Flock is growing on me though, it uses even less screen real-estate for bars up top which is very nice, and it's super fast. On another note, just setup the perfect dev environment to entirely mirror the live version of Mod Outlet: 1. Set my document root to the project root 2. Added "127.0.0.1 modoutlet.com" to windows/system32/etc/drivers/hosts So now, when I visit modoutlet.com, I get my local copy of the site exactly as it'll be setup when live.
Just wanted to make a mobile site. I like the color scheme.
Oh right. You're going to do off the argument by calling me autistic? I am autistic, yes. It doesn't influence this argument, no. If anyone's acting autistic it's you. It wasn't one level of derailing. That'd be fine. This was more like three. Why can't you realise that everything you're calling everyone else applies much better to yourself than to the person in question? By the way, that there was a flow in the subject doesn't mean there should be. Going to Germany via Belgium is no better than directly if you're trying to get to France, is it?
I'm calling zayfox an aspie not you. You are able to at least acknowledge that some of my post was on topic silly. And let's be honest here, it does kind of fit the bill, and it wasn't being used as a generic "UR RETARDED LOL" kind of thing.
Asperger syndrome or Asperger's syndrome is an autism spectrum disorder that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests.
Freaking out because of an off topic post is a good example of bad social skills.
People with Asperger syndrome often display behavior, interests, and activities that are restricted and repetitive and are sometimes abnormally intense or focused. They may stick to inflexible routines, move in stereotyped and repetitive ways, or preoccupy themselves with parts of objects.
Can't post wrong things in the wrong topic!!!
This: http://torekk.bplaced.net/testing/ Edit: I know that the nebulae effect isn't perfect, it was just rushed for testing purpose.
This: http://torekk.bplaced.net/testing/ Edit: I know that the nebulae effect isn't perfect, it was just rushed for testing purpose.
Content area is kind of narrow, but there's really not much else to comment on aside from that haha. The background looks pretty good, but the whole space as a background thing has kind of been beaten to death already to be honest. [editline]01:31PM[/editline]
Just wanted to make a mobile site. I like the color scheme.
I'm not really feeling the blue letters in the navigation. It looks out of place and kind of looks like you just put it there so you had somewhere else to put the blue. You should be emphasizing things that need emphasis, not emphasizing things for the sake of emphasizing something and using your accent color more.

Somehow, I think my psychologist knows a bit more than you. And yes, it was "being used as a generic "UR RETARDED LOL" kind of thing.". Unless you've a degree in psychology to determine he is in fact autistic? Besides, as I said before, if I cared about the thread going off-topic I wouldn't even have joined the discussion.

I'm saying that is the kind of person that I would expect to actually complain about a few off topic posts. I'm not saying that anyone who is autistic hates off topic posts. I'm saying that anyone who gets as heated as zayfox does by it is acting like they are. Just because there's no piece of paper saying he's an aspie doesn't mean he can't be acting like one in these particular circumstances :P
Besides, as I said before, if I cared about the thread going off-topic I wouldn't even have joined the discussion.
Which is exactly why I wasn't talking about you haha.
So could people test my font ting now I've improved on it a little? I want to see how it looks/whether it works in IE7+, I don't have Windows anymore so I can't test it in IE.
I get this error in Chrome:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'length' of undefined /fonts/fonts/generator.js:95

It's still insulting stereotyping. Just saying you thought he acted like one doesn't make it not discrimination.
I didn't mean to offend, but I don't believe that there's anything inherently wrong with stereotypes when they are used to demonstrate a particular kind of person. Look at it this way, when I said anal retentive aspie, you knew exactly the kind of person I was talking about right away correct? That's where I was coming from. [editline]03:43PM[/editline] Stereotyping is actually an interesting subject to read about too if you're in to the whole human cognition thing.

I have Asperger's syndrome. That doesn't inherently mean I act a certain way, it just means I'm more prone to certain behaviour. To assume all of us act the same is a stereotype.
:sigh:
rails 3, rspec, cucumber, autotest, and growl all sexied up and playing nicely together. Growl notifications are red if a test fails. [editline]09:05PM[/editline] Might help to post the image...
Seriously nice setup you got there KmartSqrl :) Working on upgrading various bits of Mod Outlet, category images etc, soon to add javascript popup thiny for the icons on item pages (http://www.dvq.co.nz/web-design/create-a-jquery-popup-bubble-effect/) and slightly fading links all around, and other bits and pieces. Basically putting off writing any functional code, particularly OpenID.
KmartSqrl, can I get your background? :3
Just warning beforehand, i am a total nut case when it comes to making things not look like a virtual hell. No matter how much thought i have put into it, i can't seem to come up with something to stick into the bottom of the page. I get this feeling that something is definitely missing down there... How it looks now: [img_thumb]http://anyhub.net/file/bricker.png[/img_thumb] I was figuring on this at first, but it's horrible i realized. Any suggestions to my dilemma?

Don't just put shit on a page for the sake of having things on the page. If you don't need it, don't add it.
I was figuring on this at first, but it's horrible i realized.
What, you mean a hand-drawn site? :v: Using this as a plug for my new design idea yo: I know that's completely unprofessional but right now I couldn't give a rat's arse; I'm going into academia, not business. I'd like to come up with a neat design that looks friendly/quirky and shows that I can make neat designs for websites... in the hope that I could make a bit of beer money in uni through web-dev stuff. I really did hand-draw the header on squared paper using a pack of coloured gel pens :v: so much nicer than coming out with a layout on computer. It's a bitch to align though, I don't even have a scanner so I had to photograph the sheet. All the images are parts of a single .png image though, which is nice. My font thing I did yesterday is used in the design for the headers and shit. Whatcha' think? Honest opinions. I want to know whether it's completely shit, or whether it has promise, design-wise...
^ Honestly I sorta like that. It's really creative.

And it will still be professional if the color is right. Maybe you should go to a print shop and use a higher quality scanner.
