In these times, web design is more than just throwing in some colours, images and text around without any other thought and thinking about your job well done. Unfortunately.
And now, let the "that's ugly" comments roll in.
Started working on it around a week ago. I think I should lighten up my design and change the font color a tad.

aka could be better. Interesting idea but your typography lacks if that's what you want to do.

I wouldn't hire you.

Why the fuck you need JavaScript for that? Ever heard about font-spacing?
Edit: Oh right, because of the font(though that's dumb, you can do it without JS too...), then again your fallback method(alternative font) isn't really working well.
Edit2: Here you go: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface/generator

Isn't that specifically the problem though, you have no examples of your work to show to potential clients. You need to try and entice potential clients in, not all are going to bother sending emails first in order to receive examples of your work.

You should really take that advice and get rid of the javascript.

We have, we've seen that extremely minimalistic website that conveys absolutely no information about yourself or your webdesign skills.

At this current moment in time, I have no need to convey or show off my webdesign skills. I'm sure I'll put something up when I need to.

Yes you do, or you need to remove the 'webdesigner' from your homepage.
Either way it's flawed.
Also, might I ask why I need to download the font from your website, even though I have it on my computer?
Yes you do, or you need to remove the 'webdesigner' from your homepage.
Umm... No I don't.
and because Vista and 7 are the only operating systems that come with SegoeUI.

I didn't ask why you provided it for download. I asked why you forced me to download it.

Your website is enough for me not to hire you.
Something that simple does not warrant Javascript, or even conditional tags

If you want to become a serious web designer you should also take into account font licensing.
The last 2 posts are basically all you need to know.
You're passing unlicensed typefaces around without permission,
You're not degrading gracefully. Why not go the whole hog and render it in sIFR.
Here is mine:

It's a free sound effect site that doubles as my project portfolio. I don't have much to show off at the moment but I'm making progress.

Since he doesn't care what potential clients will think he should redesign his site... in a word document saved as a html file :v:
Something as simple as his site could easily be a single .png image, which would be easier from a design standpoint and since none of the links highlight or anything, he could use an imagemap for them. Then everyone sees the font, no javascript is needed, and it works on browsers that're 10 years old.

I tried to keep it simple. Obviously, I didn't put that much work into it as it is all done in simple HTML and CSS. I'm really no web designer or anything, and I actually like the simplicity. Feel free to give me some suggestions if you want.

You could make it look a lot better with minimal effort by using some of the css3 things; Gradients, glows & shadows. Maybe use a gradient on the background and some glow effects on the titles. Won't be seen in IE or anything, but chances are not thaaat many gamers use IE.

Yeah, I agree and I'm open to suggestions. I want a texture or perhaps an image of a messy studio full of audio equipment but perhaps I'm mistaken in thinking that would be a good design choice?

I'll look into that. I think adding a gradient would be a fantastic idea. Thanks a lot.

Glad I could help, this will help a lot when it comes to adding the gradients to the page;
