I need your site in american please.
What do you even mean.
What do you even mean.
I click on the American flag and get English. Hurrrrr
I click on the American flag and get English. Hurrrrr
If you mean on scallex.com, I whiped the entire database (it was small, but hey it was for testing purposes) which had an option to swap bethween american and european servers to optimize the load.
I won't do that with nostalgicnetworks.tv simply because it's a pain to make,
especially with the way I am going to prevent leechers from stealing the links to the videos, and then using for their own website. (Using watermarks is for pussies (looking at you watchxonline))
nobody even goes on, so it really isn't "awesome"
I can vouch lol.
I revised my design! ;D

It's on the to-do list! lol
For now, the directory listing is the easiest way to update the library with minimal effort. It ain't pretty but it works.

This should help: http://css-tricks.com/improving-the-default-directory-view/
Thank you so much for pointing that out! I was about to design a custom directory listing system but those tricks should save me a ton of time!

Eh. Doesn't that destroy the point? If only there was a way to edit the style of a directory without pointing to another page.

Full image, HTML layout. I suggest you learn HTML/CSS to a higher standard rather than using dreamweavers design view to produce a web-page, the site is just completely and utterly static, making it a pain to make changes. AA is kinda bad on the text as it is baked into the background which makes it hard to read despite the white on black appearance. Very little of your site needs to be image based like that and tables are not for creating designs, they are simply for storing tabular data.
Design kinda looks dated as well, but thats not a major issue at the moment.

They're for displaying tabular data, not storing it :P

It's fun that it looks like you are short circuit that LCD in the picture (and you aren't sending any data to it :v:).

It's not DreamWeaver, but you're close! :D
Static is what I was going for.
It's quite easy to update this site. I've viewed this site on a few displays and devices and the text seems fine to me...
What's wrong with misusing tables?

Yeah I short it out and it magically displays sound library stats! hahaaa The LCD will be gone soon in favor of a boring shaded cell.

He's right though, it looks like those red and black cables are both connected before connecting to the PCB.

Yeah it looks like it would roast if you put power through the wires, but I didn't care at the moment of their placement. It's nice that some people noticed! lol

Well misusing tables is wrong because well, your misusing them.
Have a read of this: http://www.hotdesign.com/seybold/
okay guys, I have worked on my site some more and in short, it looks shit http://jacobhaslehurst.com . I did a mock-up of what I wanted it to look like and I thought it looked pretty rad. what do I need to do to make my mocked site?
I know it needs drop shadows behind each div and each div needs transparency, I don't however, have any idea how to do this (unless my site was made out of images).

[img_thumb]http://jacobhaslehurst.com/jacobhaslehurstcom%20mockup.png[/img_thumb]
Of course it is possible. Use RGBA background colours and box-shadow on the divs (These won't work in IE, but screw IE). Maybe make it fixed width, 960px is probably a good idea.
Hope this helps.
Is that the iframe tag?

So what happens if somebody blind with a screenreader views your website?
So what happens if somebody blind with a screenreader views your website?
Isn't not making your site accessible enough to people with disabilities a violation of a law in America or something?
Isn't not making your site accessible enough to people with disabilities a violation of a law in America or something?
Wow, that's probably one of the most idiotic laws I've ever heard in my life.
Why the hell should they care about your site? The internet is a very very free space and laws are rarely applied here.
There's a whole load of laws about that, in many countries. I know of very few sites which seem to care, I'm talking less than 10 which conform to all standards.
Which just confirms the fact that laws are rarely applied in the internet.
They aren't "rarely" applied, the fact is just that most of the stuff going on you don't get a hold of. There's tons of warez sites out, and hundreds of them get taken down like every month.
Then with personal websites, the problem is that they ain't popular enough. So barely any lawyer comes across it.
So what happens if somebody blind with a screenreader views your website?
What are the chances of that?
I can always stuff extra tags into the images to make them screen reader friendly.
Isn't not making your site accessible enough to people with disabilities a violation of a law in America or something?
IIRC that really only applies to government sites and things like that.
[editline]02:11PM[/editline]
Or at least that's the only place where you're really going to see it enforced at all.
What are the chances of that?

No you don't understand, if a screen reader is used on your site, instead of it simply reading the content it will say "table row 1, column1 lorem ipsum dolor samet" e.t.c. were as a use of divs separates the content from the design making a far better website for both the developer and the consumer.
