Well I've started learning Java but I have nothing to do with it. It makes it hard for me to want to learn; I'd rather have something to strive to do (even if it's really complicated) rather than sit here learning about how you do if statements. As an example, for PHP the first thing I coded was a web/dj panel; and hell it taught me so much.
Does anyone have any ideas for something for me to do, or some hefty code I can go through? If I can't find anything I might move onto a different language where there's something practical I can find to do.

I can't even think of a scope of items to create.. it is madness (or alternatively sadness).
Well if you learn Java, C# or C++, I'd be more than happy to work with you on something, if you think that might inspire you?
It probably would inspire me, so it'd be mutually beneficial :P

I don't think I'll give up, as such. I downloaded a whole tutorial thing here: [url]http://academicjava.com/[/url] and I'm just going through that to grasp the basics. It's then I'll really need something to do.

Learn any modern programming languages. The others should come easy, well the basic concepts. Starting high-level and trying to learn C++ now I don't do too well :P
